    Where in stanley park?

I ride through there twice a day. Other than the occasional car heading the wrong direction it seems pretty safe.

Cars I have seen going the wrong way in S.PArk:
    2 Semis (construction related)
1 Set of dressing rooms (film related)
    2 cops.
    1 brinks truck.
    4 sets of tourists.
    6 locals, no excuses here!

y'know, I came upon a car accident in Stanley Park once.

I arrived probably 5 mins after it happened.

A chinese fellow (who turned out to be from my highschool, graduated a year before me) had been racing another car.

It looked like he zagged when he should have zigged, jumped the curb and went straight down into the woods (off to the right, towards the water).

A tree was knocked down, and he broadsided another tree quite heavily.

The car (red Prelude) was upside down, music blaring, and the strangest smell.

Guy did have his seatbelt on, and his arms were dangling downwards onto the roof.

Guyy was dead, I don't exactly know how, but from the apparent violence of the crash, and the lack of any actual impact injury on his body (that I could see) suggests maybe his neck snapped.

The look in his eyes still haunts me. Lifeless, empty, and all the while a girl courageosly saying, "you'll be alright" over and over.

Pretty freaky stuff, makes one want to believe in the supernatural......kinda like a scene from "The Unexplained" in
    "Unsolved Mysteries"........

Squirly is fine, his bike and ego took the biggest hits, but he can fill you in on the details if he wants.

Ya she said there was tow guys, one was pacing having a smoke and the other was directing traffic, one bike was parked and the other was on its side. I asked he what kind of bikes, but all she could tell me was that they were both red. lol.

    That would have been me.

I'm ok. Gear saved my skin but the bike is done. (I'm no gear nazi but it does work)

Just a combination of cold tires, cold road and a painted line caused my back end to slip out on me and i slid into the curb. It's the weirdest sensation when you are sliding on the ground because you really don't understand what is going on. You should be up yet you're down.

Then I hit the curb and the bike took off doing a nice little flip smashing everything to bits and leaking fluids/oil all over the road.

Anyone selling a bike? Now the only shitty part is dealing with ICBC. Wonder how much they will give me.
