You have to go through some pretty high elevations to get down to Cali. We've encountered snow in May, let alone November. Trailer it down for sure.

been there, done that. frikkin amazing. I still like ORP better, and the Ridge is wonderful, but if you wanna ride FAST, fully committed, and really challenge yourself , T-Hill is gonna suck your balls right up into your abdomen! ...and then you get to go tour Nor Cal and/or the wine country and /or the North Coast and /or the Gold Rush country. THAT's why it's worth starting the season in Nor Cal... and finishing it too!

Yeah, thanks to all for the advice. Sounds like trucking down is the way to do it.

its the only way past september... the oregon coast is extremely temperamental, i got stuck in construction traffic, little towns everywhere in freakin' monsoon rains..

it was cold, freaking cold. wet as all that and i was exhausted from constant clutch action... never again

I have done it as a season starter. I did an early march Oregon trip...as a warm up, couple track days. Went to cali set on kill.

Let me know for next year. I was looking for some (slower) riders to go with this year but all were busy. I will bring up the rear! I need to be schooled in Northern Cali (please).

We will most likely do an early season WWD in 2016.

I think I have the best solution.
Leave bike in Cali for the winter and fly down and ride.
It's cheaper to fly down than drive.
I spent last week in the southern California hills and Arizona,Ok it was a bit chilly in the Arizona mountains but I think it was just a bit cool that week.
Meant to get up to Death Valley but it was a bit cool but awesome riding around San Diego.

It's a good way of doing it. The only part about it not great, is that if you want to use that bike stored in SoCal, in NorCal, it's about the same 12 hours of
transportation time to get there as it is from your house here.

Los Angeles is a long way from riding in Norcal in the spring/summer/fall if you wanted to... that is the downside.
