    some islander trip planning

Saving some map ideas for trips. More editing to come.

duffy lake roundtrip (mileage x2, early rise to catch first ferry in nanaimo, lunch in lillooet? return, catch 4/5 ferry back, home by mid evening?)

Place for lunch? Pretty standard looking greasy spoon. Looked at the local winery restuarant for comparison, pricy!

Sure. Hard to get public feedback on those and/or share with others though. Its a work in progress.

Sorry didn't realize you were looking for feedback, thought you were just making it for marking the routes for yourself. Routes look pretty good but the Logan Lake to Tsawassen day has a lot of extra miles in it. Some good roads but makes for an 800+ km day.

Yes the thread title was just what came to mind thinking I could edit it later. Also directing some traffic here from the lower island riders facebook group.

Ive aimed for 8 hours of riding a day (by google maps, so less in actuality dependent on speed but this allows for some breaks then), not counting the ferry or island side. That guideline in general could use some feedback.

I could shorten that last loop a bit, maybe include a bit of it in a duffy day ride (Although thats a long one already too with 2 ferry rides in one day and an hour and a half on both sides from nanaimo to victoria...). Bottom line, I did tsawassen to abbotsford every weekend for 2 years and am sick of it. The #1 and #5 arent much better in most cases. Trying to link to as many DH routes as I can.

I reckon the restaurant in the Reynolds Hotel is better. Or continue an hour and get a superb sandwich at Horsting's Farm, a couple km north of Cache Creek. Or, if you go down the canyon, hit Fat Jack's, 5 kms north of Boston Bar - best by far!

Bookending the olympic ride with a stay in seattle and then a cascades ride. Input welcome. Ive done #2 to winthrop and am basing this on my DHWA map so far.

Cascades day 1 Wenatchee to Colville

Cascades day 2 Colville to Tsawwassen

Anyone have a few days free this wed/thurs or sun-tues? Putting the final touches on some olympic/cascades riding planning around a stay in the Seattle area. Olympic/rainier wed/thurs and Cascades+ sun-tues.

Looks good. Maybe others can add their chosen routes and the OP can paste them onto his original post. That way way you can have easy access to route planning.*

Does someone have a link to Don Duqumin's (silverD) old page of LMD day trips?*
