I\'m an Admitted and well documented bike whore - I can take the shit slinging. You\'d think it was a crime bouncing from one bike to the next trying to single handedly keep the 2-wheeled powersports industry afloat the way these yahoo\'s poke fun of me.
    \r\n
\r\nTofino is too far for me - I\'m only allowed a 200km radius otherwise my ankle bracelet shoots a zillion volts through me and nobody likes the smell of burning Sidi boots.
    \r\n
\r\nPort Renfrew and we have a deal. I\'ll ride with one hand only and you pick which gear I can use - 3rd or 4th. Oh, and tell me how you like your coffee and I\'ll have it ready for you when you get there. \r\n

    \r\n \r\n
    \r\n
    \r\n
i cant handle a naked at city speeds. lol
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\nin regards to a 1k supercharged i think some of us are still missing the point, the H2\'s frame is not \'sport-bike\' material these days.
    \r\n
\r\ntheir goal was to make a bike accelerate as fast as humanly possible, they achieved it. H2 line that is.
    \r\n(which is why i could understand some not needing a 240rwhp H2-SX)
    \r\n
\r\nbut what about an super-charged ZX-10R!?? full fairings and all, track oriented suspension bits etc.
    \r\n
\r\nthe H2-SX is aimed at an entirely different segment is it not?
    \r\n
\r\nmind you one of those videos shows a similar trellis style frame on the new bike.. it will be interesting to see though.\r\n

They pitch it as a sport-tourer. The only thing that makes it a touring bike is the optional bags and center stand. It\'s full sport through and through.\r\n

i just mean you dont see many trellis style frames on sport-bikes. Seems to me (and i could be wrong) its used on these bikes
\r\nto make it as light as possible. Everything they keep talking about is straight up acceleration. Not entirely twisty oriented machines
\r\nor at least not dedicated as such. It is a style of frame which carries a lot of \'feedback\' through the entire bike, and again that
\r\nwould seem to be aimed directly at ensuring the rider FEELS every damn bit of g-forces during said acceleration. At least that
\r\nis what i\'ve seen since the H2 line was released.
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\nin terms of what the SX is billed as.. i mean clearly its not aimed at the ZX10R market, track oriented bikes etc. Its a sportbike
\r\nwith saddlebags i totally see that but the riding position, ergonomics appear to be a few eons away from what we\'re used to
\r\nconsidering a \'true sportbike\'. Yet i still see some mention of risers being available.. what do they want, ape hangers?

BANG ON, you took the words right out of my mouth.. its very clear to me, and always has been.. nope, that is not a sportibike.
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\ncan it be utilized as such? well considering every rider out there is willing to compromise physics, mathematics and every other science
\r\n under the sun these days? i say sure, have at it.. i dont think BCSB\'s opinion on the matter will have much of a say on this.
    \r\n
\r\ni recently joked about with a few blokes about how there\'s plenty of dudes riding V-stroms with a car tyre in the back, and they seem perfectly
\r\n happy to do so.. But that does not exactly mean the bike can still lean.. There\'s physics and then there\'s "dude with an internet account, physics"..
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\ndiscussing the latter with dudes who know what proper suspension, brakes, tires etc are supposed to offer gets a little uncomfortable after a while.
\r\nabout 5 minutes into it, the dude with actual knowledge just starts to roll his eyes, shake their head and ready fists for a good battle.. its rather hilarious\r\n

thats taking things in a strange direction, i dont think that is how it was meant.. plenty of odd talks on the interwebz these days. just a general comment.
    \r\n
\r\nthe line between this and that type of bike has gotten really blurry. So have most discussions regarding what is to be considered \'performance\' in modern sport-bikes. Meaning some are happy to do without \'intended levels of performance\' even though the price tag certainly reflects its original purpose. These days at least half of the motorcycle buying public does not have a clear understanding of what limitations are imposed on certain bikes, purely because of their target market.
    \r\n
\r\nThats perfectly fine as well though, as we all are aware of how spoiled we are to begin with when shopping for a new ride in 2019.
    \r\n
\r\nit would seem to me in this case, the SPORT portion of said Sport Touring (segment) Motorcycle is heavily accentuated, but in a very different way than a similar \'performance component\' would be utilized in what most of us would consider a road legal "sport-bike" aka Race Bike with mirrors and turn siggies.. Hell maybe we\'re all a little crazy and these are just labels we use because we like shiny stickers and bright colored leathers.\r\n

That is the H2. By the time they beefed up the bike to hold up to the extra power (and they added weight of the supercharger bits) it ended up being the heavier H2.\r\n

    \r\n \r\n
    \r\n
    \r\n
read a similar comment above, yeah.
    \r\n
\r\nI didnt make the distinction to be honest, specially considering the extra weight..
    \r\n
\r\nbut then at the time i was looking at all these sportibikes hitting well below the 440lbs mark, whereas the H2 is what 476.0 lb soaking wet?
    \r\n
\r\nhard to compare with yer average literbike.. most off recent years line up right beside the R6 in weight, handling, etc.
    \r\n
\r\ni just meant they\'re not really focused on outright twisty bits performance machines.. its all balls to the wall, on a straight line.
    \r\n
\r\nthere\'s a japanese rider who was trying his damnest to break the 400kph mark, maybe it was the H2R. he kept saying :
\r\n"i just need to get it upright as fast as possible.. i\'m losing too much time while leaned over, gonna run out of track."
    \r\n
\r\nmaybe it clouded my judgement.. he got it in the end, got off the lean sooner and utilized the entire length of the track to make it happen..
    \r\n
\r\ni\'m cure CDG is right, and its a naked... thats a little scary thought all in its own.

new thread: how do i get rid of POPPING!?
    \r\n
\r\nanswer: do not pass GO! head straight to JAIL!
    \r\n
\r\nedit: i\'ve often read on the Raider\'s forum popping is a result of \'fuel cut\' parameters introduced in modern ecu\'s.
\r\nunfortunately not the only cause as swapping out to an aftermarket exhaust (no catalytics) will lead to the same, but
\r\nthis is due to \'un-burnt fuel\' as you mention, it ignites within the pipes due to high internal heat of same.
    \r\n
\r\nits easy to induce with incorrect fueling , but also easy to fix.

    \r\nSupercharged Engine
\r\nDrawing on the know-how and technology possessed by the KHI Group, Kawasaki’s supercharged engine delivers high engine output while maintaining a compact design. The key to achieving this incredible performance lies in the engine’s supercharger – a motorcycle-specific unit designed completely in-house with technology from Kawasaki’s Gas Turbine & Machinery Company, Aerospace Company and Corporate Technology Division.
    \r\n
\r\nOne of the greatest benefits of designing the supercharger in-house and tailoring its design to match the engine’s characteristics was that engineers were able to achieve high-efficiency operation over a wide range of conditions – something that would not have been possible by simply dropping in or trying to adapt an aftermarket automotive supercharger.
    \r\n
\r\nThe importance of high efficiency in a supercharger is that, as the air is compressed, power-robbing heat gain is minimal. And while many superchargers are able to offer high-efficiency operation in a very limited range of conditions, Kawasaki’s supercharger offers high efficiency over a wide range of pressure ratios and flow rates – meaning over a wide range of engine speeds and vehicle speeds. This wide range of efficient operation (similar to having a wide power band) easily translates to strong acceleration. The supercharger’s high efficiency and minimal heat gain also meant that an intercooler was unnecessary, greatly saving weight and space, and enabling the engine’s compact design.\r\n

Okay, fair point on the suspension but as a counter point I\'d say that almost all owners of Tuono\'s swap out the boingers as well for Factory spec or RSV units, so there\'s that...
    \r\n
\r\nHigh maintenance costs though I\'ll call BS.
    \r\n
\r\n- First service at 1000kms - $300 and includes ECU update and the use of Motorex full synthetic oil.
\r\n- Next service is at 11,000kms and is the same basic service costing $300ish.
\r\n- Next service is the same at 21,000kms
\r\n- Then valves are due at 4th service or 30k - whatever comes first.
    \r\n
\r\nOh, and a 2 year warranty rather than Ape\'s 1 year so that\'s an added bonus.
    \r\n
\r\nInteresting to see the RS660 MSRP as well as the Duke 790 is 11,999 and can be had for $10,999 so the $1,900 I put into suspension will still likely put in under where the Italian bikes would be.\r\n

\r\n I know a few Tuono riders, and i\'m the only one who\'s swapped out any suspension components, and based off my time on the Af1 forums, I think your assessment there is quite inaccurate.
\r\nFrom what i\'ve read online (and maybe only related to early production units), is that the 790 motors has had quite a few issues, with oil leaks being very common.
    \r\n
\r\nI\'d also guess that stock adjustable Sachs is much better than the completely non-adjustable WP units.
    \r\n

So you weren\'t the guy who ordered his Ohlins shock with our Pal Kurt? (Wet Dog) Interesting...
    \r\n
\r\nEven more telling is the fact that you yourself swapped it out for upgraded stuff so that\'s evidence enough that even though adjustable it\'s still lacking, correct? I mean, you voted with your wallet already on that question.
    \r\n
\r\nI was on AF1 when I owned my \'12 Tuono and I\'d beg to differ - there were group buys all the damn time for suspension on there.
    \r\n
\r\nOil leaks - it\'s an issue that some owners have reported globally which is a leaking counter shaft seal - oil gets by it and weeps out - on the 790 forum I\'ve seen roughly 8-10 cases of it reported out of the many many members there. It\'s covered under warranty and takes about 30 minutes for the shop to swap seals. Again, just the fact that a long time Aprilia owner is questioning engine issues, oil leaks, etc... is super fantastic - pot loudly telling the kettle about his blackness.
    \r\n
\r\nRS660 to Duke is apples to oranges yes, my comparo however was a naked middleweight based on the RS660 frame/engine which would then compete with the Duke - you\'d have two VERY similar european middleweight naked using parallel twins to propel em.\r\n

I stand corrected. I was thinking of the Triumph site when I had my Street Triple.
    \r\n
\r\nAF1 does however have over stock sales like the Ohlins shock one last year posted by Ted and if you type Ohlins, suspension upgrade, etc... into the search I got over 500 threads pop up for each - seems like quite a common topic of conversation don\'t ya think?
    \r\n
\r\n...so, how about the rest of my post - no feedback on my other comments?\r\n

\r\n They already make a straight sport h2 and h2r and the h2-sx. So highly doubtful the big new release is another full fairinged supercharged sportbike I would think. The obvious move is a sport naked I would think. Basically a naked h2.\r\n
