    Happy New Year

Sending out a Happy New Year to all of you. I hope everyone got out riding as much as they had hoped in 2019. I'm also curious as to what everyone has planned for 2020.

Me- beyond getting out riding more than last year, I have two goals.

    1. Do more weekend trips. Leaving after work on Friday, and returning Sunday or Monday. There is so much new riding just 1 day away that i'm never getting to explore.

    2. Get away for a 2 week trip in May like the last few years, and then a 2 week trip in September. I may not get to do both, but i definitely need to do at least one. If i get out in May it will likely be California, Arizona, Utah, or something along those lines. The fall i want to get back to Colorado, and Northern New Mexico.

    what about everyone else?

    Scott.

Hit a couple of the backroad trips in the interior like Douglas Lake Ranch and some local peak that has FSR access.

I had such a 'light' year in 2019 - way to much work mostly...
CA in May is always a treat. looking like CO with a buddy mid-June? then... open question...

Happy 2020 everyone, the last year of the decade.

2020 riding as most would hope, will be increased from last year. 2019 gave me opportunity to take in new Ferry routes up through Pt. Hardy-Bella Coola, and into remote areas of BC I've overlooked.

The usual unfortunate conflicting dates of events in our limited riding season mean tough choices. This year the west coast return of the NA BMW MOA event in Great Falls, Montana give me the opportunity to re-visit great rides through SE Washington, NE Oregon, central Idaho, western Montana, and, take in new motorbike territory in the region of Drumheller, Alberta. New free accomodation/pitstop in Penticton, complete with pool, hot tub, beer, sunshine, give me opportunity to run through the classic riding areas of Kaslo, New Denver, Nakusp, Lumby, etc, hopefully doing some kind FSR roads replacing any straight tarmac which I dislike a lot. My biggest decision will be whether to take a vintage BMW, or a newer model with full electric 'nanny status'. Swimming trunks to use when visiting my old favourite hot springs, Ainsworth, Nakusp, and an old favourite, Challis Hot Springs in central Idaho.

Fall, planning on trailering my bush hack to Death Valley for another visit. News is that Scotty's Castle will be re-opening in 2020, closed for 5 years now from flood damage, I want to explore Death Valley with a more capable offroad bike than a 1200GS.

    Happy New Decade!

I was hoping for a nice September with less, traffic, heat, and people. But it turned shitty weather wise after labor day. So that put a 'damper' on my season. I'll do more and go further this spring.

Hoping for a good season just like last but with longer trips. *We'll be exploring further into Washington and keep hitting up the kootenays too. *I'll be haunting hwy6 as usual. *Still up in the air about upgrading my bike, see how it goes when spring fever hits.*

    Happy new year!*

I'm going to be going down to one bike this year. Selling the CBR 600 and the Ninja ZX-10RR in May as I'm no longer using them. Definitely doing a one week tour through BC, WA and ID on the FJR. Love that bike!

the western portion of the Douglas Lk Rd has some of the nicest, most neglected riding in the Southern Interior:

the central and eastern portions, not so hot:
