    RIP: Max Evans

Just saw this on the cop website:

Collision claims life of 24 year old male

On 2005-03-13 at approximately 1128 hrs Burnaby RCMP were called to the scene of a collision in the 8600 block of Armstrong Avenue in Burnaby where a motorcycle collided with a parked car. The motorcycle struck the back end of a legally parked Honda Civic. The impact resulted in the car being severly damaged and the rider of the motorcycle, a 24 year old male, being thrown approximately 20 metres. The rider was taken to RCH with serious injuries. At the hospital a CT Scan was taken and the prognosis changed and the rider had suffered what were now considered life threatening injuries. He was later transported to Vancouver General where he went into cardiac arrest and sucumbed to his injuries. The rider of the motorcycle has been positively identified as Maxwell Evans of Burnaby.

Several witnesses say the motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.

Other factors in the collision, if any, will not be known until a later date. Police continue their investigation.

    Rider down Burnaby, RIP

I just got the very sad news that my landlords brother passed away today. It was his birthday and just reg'd his bike yesterday and was riding around his house in Burnaby and hit a parked car.

I got the frantic call from his mom this morning trying to reach them and went upstairs to pass on the bad news. Later tonight I got the message that he didn't make it. So sad.

I sold my bike because it was causing my parents to worry all the time. And my landlord always bugged me about when I'm going to get another one. It just goes to show how fast things can go from being so fun to utter tragedy, he was young and lots of life to live.

I'm not going to post any names or details but i'm sure someone here knows him. You guys still riding really be careful out there, it isn't worth pushing it that extra bit no matter how addictive it is. Remember your bike is better than you are and all the cagers are worse than you are. Sorry to be a downer but a reality is a bitch...
