2007 Motorcycle Show @ Tradex

The dates have been out for awhile, and past participants already have their brochure for 2007.

Thursday January 25th to Sunday January 28th. Four days as per last year.

There is an "add on" tent the same as last year, probably for club booths and the riding entertainment again. (5th Gear?)

Anyone know if the highway interchange has been completed, and should it help the backlogs? (for those who don't know how to access the back-road route)

roundabouts are actually very effective at flowing traffic. you'll see once they're in full use that they will be beneficial. the interchange will more than likely be done before the show. lets hope 5th gear is back again, that was some good stuff last year

Canadian Scooters has a large display area in 07, perhaps lending itself to the increase in scooter use as a legitimate transportation method, and the price of fuel affecting people's choice.

Oh, hardly. They work ok with moderate traffic, but crap out when it gets busy.

They're just a cheap, half-assed substitute for an interchange.
Have you ever been to Europe, Paris in particular? This picture below is of traffic circle (Porte Maillot) that is anywhere from 7-10 lanes wide at it's widest, but who knows there are no lines. Not to mention the convergence of so many main arteries for commuters.

Now the French are notoriously bad drivers and myself I have seen it first hand :surrender But yet every day they seem to find a way to make it through relatively accident free. It was amazing to see the ebb & flow during rush hour, all the while my heart still racing from that last supposed pedestrian crossing! :eek

I go though the interchange at Mt Lehman every morning and I will confirm for you 100% that nobody in this city knows how to deal with it. It has partial two lane sections as well for getting on the #1. Traffic gets back logged at the light for the automall now while dumb fucking sheep try to figure out who has the right of way in a round about.

They're the same people who stop on on-ramps to Hwy 1. The problem is that they can't think far enough ahead to match their speed with traffic, because they're spending all of their brain cycles talking on their damn phones.

Roundabouts are a refereshing oasis' in the otherwise lacklustre roadsystem of any city. The oportunity to scrub both sides of your tyre, and enjoy the difference your mode of transport offers.
..plus of course they are a very efficient method of smoothing traffic flow.

Some European cities have so many, you don't need to leave town to give yourself a good workout :)

I think this thread has been totally derailed now..good job people ;)
