Having trouble removing the tail section for an 04 600RR. I've taken out all the bolts, the section is loose, but it doesnt seem to come off the bike. I am trying to remove it to install integrated tail lights. Of course the new lights dont come with instructions! lol.

Advice anyone? It seems like im just missions sth really simple and the section will come off.

thanks

It is literally squeezed on the bike - you have to 'flex' the bodywork a bit to get it on/off the bike.

I sweated buckets pulling one off to be sure I didn't break/crack the fairing. I dunno what it is worth, but I would think that it is prettty spendy. It is surprisingly flexible, and fits well, but is a BITCH to get on/off.

Kinda like a hot chick in really tight jeans, gotta kinda shimmy and wiggle a bit to get 'em off...

yeah, its alittle tricky. just work it slowly. when it starts to come up pull the right side over first. that seems to work for me. if u think getting it off is hard. wait till u have to put it back on. you'll get the hang of it. its pretty flexible.

thanks a lot guys. I'm gonna try it this weekend. I was pulling at it..but stopped b/c it did feel like it was going to snap!

does anyone know if it doesnt fit back on as well later? does it sit much more loose? I tried putting back my solo seat cowl, and it didnt fit.

It will stretch about 89% everytime you pull on it or more.

it does feel like its going to snap but unless you really pull on it. it should be fine. also remember to line up the bolts that hold the taillight in place with the grommets on the subframe. you have to push down a little harder and push forward on the tail section then it will pop in place.
