There has been several threads lately asking about the 600cc sportbike class. I would like to make this thread for people to choose and discuss which one they prefer over the others. These are of the 2006 model line up. Please base it on, looks, performance, reliabilty and whatever other things you can think of.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R (636)

Yamaha YZF-R6

Suzuki GSXR-600

Honda CBR 600RR

Well seing as i compared all these bikes in the past week id have to go with the ZX6R over all the rest.
I find that it offers more comfort than most (seems the same level as the gixxer), its got the most power out of the bunch, amazing stock breaks, i think it looks amazing.
But the 600 class is so close, with the exception of the rr, that its a very hard choice these days.

All are excellent machines. Comes down to personal preference and what feels 'best' to you. Get out there and ride them all, then compare.

i have riden everyone but the new r6. from the seat of my pants feel and not actually owning one, the gsxr is a peach of a bike. But keeping in mind out of those four the honda has been unchanged since it's release in 2003, cept some minor changes. The kawi, yammi and the zook are BRAND new bikes, so it is a case of old vs new, lol. But, ive owned my 2004 600rr since new, ive got 30,000km on the odo, ive beaten the crap outta her and not ONE thing has gone wrong. My valve clearence check showed my valves to be all identical and all right in the middle of there tolerances. My recent hickup actually ended up being a slightly loose connection on my TPS sensor. I blame wheelies for that lol. but yeah, like i said I've had nothing but a bullet proof experience with my honda, and im looking forward to 30,000km of more trouble free redline fun.

i haven't tried all of these bikes but i can tell you even if I did, I wouldn't be able to max out the full potential of the bike. I have ridden an R6, RR and now a Gsxr and it boils down to seating position and the looks of the bike.

RR is by far the ugliest as it hasn't made any huge changes. R6 and the Gsxr are my favorite (even teh R6 looks good without the special edition yellow). The kawi has came back from all the trash talk abotu how fugly it looks so it's growing on me.

Gsxr and then the R6 for the win

I'd have to go with the Honda, not because I own one but because before I bought her, I researched and test rode most of the 05/06 models and I found that the Honda is most comfortable for my fit!

went with the Zook. all the current 600's as of a few years ago are al within a couple tenths of eachother and each has its storng points and such. i've always liked the Gixxers though since 1985!! i've owned prolly like 6 of them of various size and years.

636 but gsxr close second.

In my opinion the 636 has a great mid range with a hair more power than the suzuki. However, the suzuki is more "flickable" in corners and is able to change position from left to right with amazing handling and accuracy.

Oh yeah, and if you get the suzuki get ear plugs you'll need em.

Im sure all ride great, but Honda is by far the nicest/meanest looking bike from all angles.

Kawasaki: not so nice from front profile
Suzuki: Terrible passenger seat, and silly little stubby exhaust
Yamaha: side profile not so great, looks like front end is higher than back end.

I think the 636 is probably the nicest, my buddy had an 05 in blue and it was pretty cherry. As much as I love the 600rr I'm getting bored with it, its been the same for 3 years, can't wait for a new design. I think Honda should come up with a radical new design and dump the 600rr name and call it the "F5" There's already been a CBR F1,F2,F3,F4 and F4i, just a matter of time before they bust out the F5.

Man Honda CBR can lick my hairy balls. It is the most simpilest looking bike ever from the front. Has not attitude, has no character. Now the 636 looks mean, real mean like a F15 fighter jet or something if you get the Euro turn signals (especially with my colour Gunmetal) I just hate the back of the 636, its way too fat, and if you take the fender off its soo ugly, and with it on its uglier. The R6 looks really mean from the front too, and the back looks really sexy. And the GSXR I like all around, it looks pretty mean, the back looks sexy and mean and the sides are just awsome.

I have a 636 and I am gona find a tail section of a 06 R6 or a 06 Gixxer and get it put on the back. it will be sweet.

So ill say 636 but GSXR really close second and third is R6 and way last is the RR
