i need some opions, i have an option to buy a 92 zx750 which needs some tlc and alot of body work but is worth putting the money into, or to buy a newer bike, the ninja is a rarity since they only made that model for the 1 year with the pipes to the gas tank, so its almost a collector ... i have riden it and it runs great just needs to be sent to the shop for a tune up and body work includeing paint .... any suggestions on what to do ? is it worth fixiing up an will i get my money out of it when i decide to sell it ... oh yeah, i do have the money to make it mint again. so i wouldnt be cheapin out .

buy it ..you can do this to it ,this is my 92 zx7



its a great bike youll love it ,nice and planted and bulletproof .plus the 92 is a classic id love to get another one and leave it bone stock

what type of tail / seat is that ?

buy it ..you can do this to it ,this is my 92 zx7



its a great bike youll love it ,nice and planted and bulletproof .plus the 92 is a classic id love to get another one and leave it bone stock
hey .. nice job? i was thinking about painting it mat black ... but what seat / tail piece do you have ? thats not stock ?

unfotunatly there is nothing collectible about that bike unless it is bone stock with stock stickers and paint. Otherwise it is really just a 2000 dollar bike. Even after you drop in 3 - 4 K to clean it up.

hes completely right ,even if its mint and totally stock its worth $ 2 -3500 tops .

a 92 zx7r would be around 4500 if you could find the buyer .Never buy a bike with resale in mind ,especially if yur gonna mess with it

no .. i dont have resale in mind .. although im sure i would only have it for a few years .... i dont mind takin a hit on it .. im sure after buyin it and bringing it to par i will have spent 4500 or so ... i dont mind losing some cash .. what i will lose in money i will have already gained in riding it .... i just want to make sure i wont lose everything

gettin 45 out of a 92 zx7 would be a tuff stretch ,it would have to be flawless and in perfect running shape and the guy buyin would have to really really want that particular one. 15 years old by now .

,that being said yu spend 4500 now ride it for a few years or even a season ,its like a 1500 a year bike payment you lose,thats jack all.

just make damn sure thats all you need to spend on it. I was on one this summer and it was leaking fucking oil all over the place.

mechanically it needs new brakes and a tune up .. no leaks or anything ... most of the money would be body work and lights.

You'd lose most of what you put into it ......

Most would prefer to put their money in a newer more technologically & mechanically advanced bike, Even if it looked like Crap. Many would take newer over better looking.

Just my opinion, however if I'm leaned over at 200+ i'm not looking at my bike, I'm riding my engineered suspension.
