the vertical travel is the same as a rear swingarm... but the steering uses a series of linked lever arms (red bars on both sides) to pivot the front wheel on some tricky ball-joint bearing / axil combo thing... i think...
The first photo on that web page is a BMW, the following photos are of a Bimota Tesi 2D, the successor of the above mentioned 1D. The Bimota is powered by a Ducati 1000 motor. The BMW in the first photo is an entirely different bike.
