Some people don't want to realize the truth. Buying a shiny new 100 horsepower bike is more desirable to them because it'll impress the buddies and the ladies. When in fact these people don't have the nads to ride something somewhat old and ugly. My first motorbike was a '79 Honda XL250. The thing cost 320 bux and it was incredibly fun.

Mine was the usual EX500. I loved riding it and was happy with the power but I wanted something with better brakes and suspension. And updated... that bike hasn't changed in over 10 years! I'm sure glad I did all my drops and built up my experience on that bike first. Insurance was so inexpensive too since it was only worth around $3000.
