Sorry Jason, WD40 is too rich for my blood and it destroys the ozone layer :D

I use mineral spirits, turpentine, paint thinner...same diff in this case. Cheap stuff from paint dept. at HD, [email protected] Tires and the likes. Clean it as often as you like...the more often the better. I use rearstand, a stiff bristle brush and a catch pan.

Please, for the love of God, don't ask what type of chain lube...

That's funny Joe... C'mon tell the truth, I'm pretty sure the stuff you detailed above is actually done by some guy in a shop. I know you don't like to get your hands dirty.. lol.

Clear Kerosine from Can Tire camping section... then I use Castrol chain lube from Can Tire with it's lil straw on the nozzle, spraying from inside to outside while holding a cloth below to catch the excess and dirt. You'll see lotsa dirt blasted out of chain. Then just wipe the chain and don't forget to clean sprockets. It's also recommended to clean chain when the chain is warm, after riding.

Not being nasty but I'd suggest using the Search function and dredge up all the other threads about this popular topic.

<<------ Another one who uses kerosene from Can-Tire to clean. I bought a can of o-ring safe spray on lube from Richmond Motorsports (can't remember brand).

+1 for Kerosene.
+1 for using the Search function.
+1 for reading the owner's manual. They suggest Kerosene in there.

Oh yeah and... it's highly flammable. So if you've just gotten back from a ride and planning to clean the chain - be careful.
