I was just watching biker build off on discovery channel, but this time they had dirt bikes instead of choppers. One of the builders had a CR250 fitted with a clear lexan engine cover and water pump cover. I'm wondering if it would be practical to do such a thing on a street bike, cause it would look pretty sweet

ueah i saw that ep too. It does look awsome. if you have a naked bik ei think it would be nice but then you gota worry about what happens if ya dump you bike. also the whole leaking issue they has on the show.

There used to be clear covers for bevel drive Ducatis. GIves you a warm and fuzzy to be able to look in and see the oil sloshing around and keeping the parts happy... :D

I was thinking entire covers and how the heat would get to them. But little portholes like on that TL would be a lot less problem.

Now if we could have clear crankcases so I could see the crank and stuff slopping around that would be AWSOME! Sort of like those Invisible V8 and Invisible Man models from years back... :D

The one SSBlade posted was a metal perimeter with a clear window in it. The ones on the discovery channel where completely Lexan. That's why they had problems with them leaking. Lexan wasn't stiff enough to distribute the load from the bolts around the perimeter and stop it from leaking.
