Hi Sharon,

Last year was great and looked like everybody enjoyed themselves. I'll be there again this year. Yeah, keep Duane as the auctioneer, he was fun to listen too.

Are the ticket books for a raffle for the Spiderman Chopper and how many tickets are in a book? I'll take a book.

Hi Sharon. I'll be able to make it this year unlike last year. Unfortunately I have a birthday party to attend later in the evening so I won't be able to stay too late.

Could you give some history on this event. Who is cody, where do the funds go. I would consider the event if I know what it was for. Thanks

Hey Man,
Cody was a friend of ours, that went by the name of dafnip on the boards. He passed away last year on his bike shortly after setting up a shop in burnaby called grand prix development. It was pretty devastating cause a month prior we had lost Dan, and we were all still trying to cope with his loss. Cody was a great guy, who regularly participated in charity events like balding for dollars. He loved kids, I think he would've done anything for the lil buggers.

Every time I go for a long ride, I think about Dan and Cody, how they're ripping it up together now in some wicked summer road. Someone can prolly do a much better job than I describing these guys, I just wish they were still here.

In short, come out. Bring some buddies. I'm sure they'll be enough stories that will make you feel like you knew him.

here's the rip thread, in case you want to see some of the great things everyone said about him

If Jonny Rebar is there I have to be there to make sure he behaves. Besides, it sounds like a great cause. I believe Cody's roadside memorial is right near the home stretch on any ride I travel on...Cariboo Rd and Stormont? Near Gaglardi?

Count me in for Nov 4th.

yes country slicker you are right that is cody's memorial, i also drive very close by everyday, and i just cant get it in my head that its his spot. but i find it so very hard seeing it, yet sometimes i just have to drive by, i dont think im saying what i mean to say, so i wont go on and on, but yes in a bittersweet way we will all have a good time for a great cause, im about ready to drop but i keep hearing my son say "way to go mom keep it up".

i cannot thank everyone enough for the support last night, you guys are amazing, thank you from the bottom of my heart. i hope you all had a great time. i am very sorry i did not get the chance to talk and meet everyone as i guess you could see how busy we were, ( i only got two smokes in the whole night) k, we took in roughly around 4,805.00 after paying the bar we came out 3,535.00 alot more than last year. once again without all of the support this would never be. also if you have any ideas for next year please let me know. so this year we plan to take on 6 families where as last year it was 3, our theme, i guess you can call it is to support young mothers that are still attending school with their children. As, i believe they are trying to better themselves and deserve to be spoiled at christmas kinda like a reward, as i know how hard it was for my young daughter at the time when she used to cart 2 kids to school with her, and look at her now a capeable mom with her education behind her. so that is our plan through the years to give the girls a christmas to remember. i want to tell you something for thoes of you who could not make it this year. the lady who won the bike is corrine and i cannot for the life of me think of her last name at the moment but she lost her son in maple ridge at the gas station over $12.00 and so we know our angels are watching over us. i believe calvin from offroad leisure products in langley is again donating a bike for next year. he is amazing. i will be adding more to this to keep everyone posted about what we are doing very soon. but im in the middle of trying to put together a food drive to give to each family also anyone wanting to help with it let me know or if you have any ideas thanks. although in my heart i know we are doing a wonderful thing, it hurts because of the reason why, and i know cody is looking down and over us with his hugh beautiful smile, thinking thats my moms family and my friends doing this for me and i know he would be very proud of us all. i just wish he could know the love we all have for him.thanks again and hope to see everyone next year.

Very cool event. I am honoured to have been in the prescence of such strong people as the family's of Grant De Patie and Cory. Your strength and willingness to help others and carry on such a caring memory humbles me.

Thank you from the deepest parts of my heart. You have brought kindness and love to the lives of many.

Stacey
