hey guys,
I fell the first time on my FZR today.
I actually made it to SFU and came back fine (i live in richmond) in the rain.

But at the last corner, there were these oil mix with water puddle which made me lost my traction and fell on the road.

I was really glad that a lot of people stopped and stepped out from their car to offer help.

I am fine, but my bike is a bit fu*ked. <sigh>
THe muffer popped out but I think i can slip it back on..
But this metal part on my bike (near the place where I put engine oil in) scrapped big time and now there are some cracks and i think oil is leaking from there.
Any idea how i should fix this?

Perhaps, i should take some pictures and ask you guys eh?

Thanks!
O yea, I am totally fine for those who are wondering and cares~

Glad you are OK.

If you live in Richmond, go see Bill at 5th Gear - good repairs at a reasonable price. I think he can even arrange to pick-up your bike if it is not rideable.

first off im happy to hear that your fine, sorry about the bike.

dood i ride all year round and in winter and in rain, i go around corners at like 10k... basically i dont lean at all i just turn the bike, clutch in lol i just kind of coast around the corner i never take it hard at all in that kind of weather or even remotly close to anything that requires me to lean more than like 10% lol. But when it is dry and hot i fucking fly around it at like 50kmh lol.

Respectfully, any bike accident you walk away from ...is a good one. Glad you're okay. ;) The roads are VERY slick this time of year, testing even the best of riders. If it helps at all: you've now moved from the group known as 'those who will go down' to the -larger- group of 'those who have gone down'. Your bike can be fixed, and will be; there are amazing shops/techs around here. You couldn't have picked a better time of year to be bike-less for a short while.

Above all: I suspect your coming forward to post your story probably just helped a LOT of riders who haven't yet clued-in to the fact that it isn't still August. ;) Good on ya... and best of luck with the repairs.

:cheers

thanks so much guys, makes it so much better!

Yea..my bike is a bit of a mess, but like you guys said, it's replacable and I am not...
I am totally fine, no scratches, no brusies (thanks to my gears).
I guess that teaches me a lesson on the speed of going really really slow around corners when it's raining and wet eh?

<sigh> well, winter is comming anyways, guess it should just park it in the garage and try to fix it...

O well, this definitely made me want to ride more! so I shall meet you guys next season.

Again, thanks everyone
feels like a family :)

of course it is :D

LOL it was an exageration. I just mean to say i go very slow around corners when there is snow/ice or if it is raining that is all lol

kuldip

I been riding for over a year now btw :D
and no I havn't gone from country to country riding my bike... have you? Im sure with a statement like that you have. I seriously dont think the weather in china is the same in vancouver, nor will it ever be. If you think you have to ride all over the world to figure out how to ride in vancouver... well I dont even know what to tell you. Im sure someone as old as you has much more knowlage about this? Maybe I am just being an ignorent punk kid, I just wasn't aware that I had to ride all around the world to know how to ride in vancouver.

ANYWAYS - glad you're ok - you can fix/build/buy another bike but as others have said you're not replaceable.
