Is it time to unearth the fossils, resurrect the corpses and plug in the pacemakers for 2006’s inaugural Geezer Ride?

My bike's not on the road [ :banghead ] yet but the nice nurse lady here at the 'Sunset Years Retirement Village' says I'm free to ride as long as:

1. My walker can be attached to my bike.
2. My Depends are readily accessible from my tank bag.
3. Pee-breaks are well planned ahead.

And um... I forget the rest... :( What was the question? Can you speak up a little louder? :) Nice bike ya got. What is it? :cool Am I interested in what? Mmmm, let me go ask the nurse and I'll let ya know. ;) I'm at the Sunset Retirement Village. Did I mention that? Yay... the nurse says I can go riding if:

1... :rolleyes (I forget. Be right back.)

So far the only restriction (outside of my bowels) is that Janet wants to go after May 10th (I guess she needs a new liver or something). Suggestions on best day and place?

Ahhhhh... nothing like a little 'lectroshock therapy in the morning to get the ol' ticker started....

I'm in. Pick a spot.

Someone even suggested an actual weekend day ride last year. I'm not sure the logistics would support this daunting a task but it's somethin' to consider.

Or, dare I suggest it, an overnighter down to Winthrop or some other place where we could set up a camp and sit around a fire? Actually there's a nice campground that fits the bill up in Cache Creek. They gots a big fireplace BBQ and everthin'!

Wow, Bruce must have taken his cialis lately, he's feeling awfully sprite, suggesting camping and all. Maybe he forgot that sleeping on the cold ground in a tent can be terribly trying on the old joints!

The reason I can't go until May 10 is not a pacemaker operation, or even a hip replacement by golly. You see, that's my moving day, getting into the new townhome and all (and no, it's not a long-term care home!).

I achieved "dirty old bast*rd" status 4 years ago, I won't be considered a Geezer for 6 more years!

Bladerunner, If you are 40, you have 10 more years to be a full Geezer!

I'm in. Got 14 right. At least I'm not OLDER than dirt....

12-16 Correct:
Not quite dirt yet, but your mind is definitely muddy.

The wax bottles of flavoured sugar water I bought as a kid. My dad's cars had the high beam switch on the floor for years. And a few others made me laugh. I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and worried about the nuclear war that Cuba and Russia were going to start. We were let out of elementary school for 1/2 a day when Kennedy was shot.

How about the loop - the geezer loop that is:

Start at the Robson & Thurlow Starbucks (SW corner one of course) and head off to the White Rock Home for the Infirmed, then go to the Chilliwack Senior Care Facility, The Mission Home for the Aged, then amble off the to Squamish Home for the Senile, Confused and Incontinent and the finish up the St Paul's Geriatric Ward.

We may lose a couple of riders along the way who may 'self-admit' themselves to any of these fine facilities, but that is the risk we take.... we are constantly tempting fate, aren't we?

Or a quick Chuckanut rip - either way :coffee
