If the unhappy people who call in your plate are willing to swear out a statement the police will issue a ticket. They would need to have recorded dates and times in a log (which the police would recommend to them).

If they choose not to pursue you will receive a letter (or two, or three), not a ticket - and you will likely find a police car in your favourite haunts.

They can ticket you, but fight it. The court will not accept the ticket. When the cop shows up, your answers are "Wasn't me, are you charging me with anything?". Let him hand you the ticket, smile and walk away.

Agreed. Tickets issued in this manner do not stand up in court well. There are too many factors that could cause reasonable doubt. Someone that didn't like you could just file erroneous complaints once a week.

dont answer your phone unless it is people you know, and if they show up at your house they will ask for you.

they dont know what you look like, dontknow if you have a twin so they will ask for the person and when they do say I am sorry he isnt here and I am busy so I am afraid I will have to ask you to leave. They can only issue the ticket within 1 year from the alleged date, so wait it out and hope they dont pull you over.

that being said please only do things like this OUTSIDE of rural/busy areas. I see no problem with it on an empty street with no driveways, but through traffic or an area with cars where someone could walk out and you wouldnt see them, that is just plain idiotic!

yah, i would defininatly dispute the ticket, there is no hard evidence agaisnt you... remember t hey have to prove that you did what they said you did, or you can have a million people calling you in just saying you did this and that .

You may not get ticketed for that offence because police rarely call on a civilian to attend traffic court unless there's been a crash. On the other hand, the 911 operator will have checked your licence plate to see if your bike is reported stolen. Now here's the catch. If your plate gets checked on the system again in the next little while, there will be comments attached to why it was checked. Guess what, if the officer had watched you do a violation and this history came up with the remarks, "doing wheelies", chances are you're not going to end up with just a verbal chat from the cop. Pick your spots. Enjoy your ride.

my friends dad is a cop,, and the owner of the bike/car is responsible for the actions of who ever is driving,, so even if you try the "i wasnt driving" thing,, they will give the registered owner the ticket. He told me that a few months ago..

Just don't answer the fukin door when the cop cums knockin. If you answer and lie it becomes obstruction. You have no legal requirement to answer though. Avoid the problem, it will go away. Cops do actually have more pressing issues.

actually, not the case. if the civilian provided a statement that lead to the issued ticket then the civilian has to show up as well as the officer that issued the ticket. a group of us was recently pulled over because someone called us in. he didnt get any plates, only descriptions so its pretty easy to get off. but the officer said all she can do in court is say she issued the ticket, then the civilian has to provide evidence that the alleged offence occured. so chances are unless buddy is a real cock block he wont show up and you get off scotch free

i had some crazy lady call in my plates once. I was hella pissed cuz there was 3 of us (2 on bikes) and i was just spectating cuz my bike was acting gay. Anyways the 2 people left ahead of me and i putted along to go home when i c some lady running at me with binoculars and pen/papper and a cordless phone. When i realized what she was doing it was too late and she had written my plate. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR i wasnt doin anything just there when someone else was stunting. I wanted to stop and strangle the woman cuz i already have enough heat on my record. Anyways to end things i never heard anything of it but if i did then i would have to bomb her house.
