i am considering getting a GP shorty exhaust bolton for my 2005 gsxr 1000. i have seen them from M4 and Micron only so far, but haven't seen the yosh or heard any soundlcips. also, does anyone known about the decibal rating on them and if they are street legal here in BC?

Borderline, i have seen some cool pics on your gallery that show what i think is a yosh shorty and also some dual chopped exhaust on the gsxr. looks wicked, but is it street legal?

how loud a can is depends on the size of the baffle and the packing. i chopped down my Yosh can to 12" but repacked it properly and it's maybe a couple decibls louder then before. seems abit louder because its 6" closer to my ear now but still quite nice. if you look on the M4 website or Micron they should give you the specs on the mufflers your interested in. should have soundclips too.

ok well i looked at both sites and couldn't find any sound bites about them or legality info although both say that no system is legal in the US but that they don't actually enforce the rule really. personally i think the Micron is kinda weird looking but the M4 is a nice piece and really not to badly priced considering it's titanium.

its just a photoshop ,im going to have it built but it wil be attached to a canister under the belly .

i think i'm even goig to change the open header on my kawi becasue its to loud to ride on the street and basically good for blowing eardrums and not much more ,if i ever plan to ride it more than a few times i need some sort of baffle

check your PM's and search those links there is a lot of choices

like purple said ,it all depends on how loud you want to go ,after that its all asthetics and build quality

my kawi is 125db at 10 grand ,,pretty useless ,,try and stay around 105 max 110

this is suposed to be rated at 110

not the prettiest ,but the cheapest for sure ,there is sound clips on that CDC.com site of it as well

Go with the Racefit like I was tellin ya eariler!! Wicked sound but can still be "quiet" when you want it.

125db @ 10 DAYUM! My shorty piped RC was around 112db @ 10 and I thought that was loud!
basically other than being an asshole to everyone and making it unrideable its hilarious and sounds nuts

i am looking for a replacement for it ,same config and look but with some sort of baffle ................i had my fun ..i actually want to ride the thing now

there was a guy local with a gix thou that came by the shop with a race fit .It sounded very cool ,prob the coolest retail pipe ive heard .It wasnt very loud (of course im half deaf now ,so i cant really gauge, lol ) not much louder than any other race slip-on .Its not tame ,but its not a complete ticket magnet either

but id go with a race fit in a heartbeat ,price is kinda steep but they look really good in person

yeah new is bloody expensive from the UK. cheap if you have pounds but the conversion kills it. the M4 was a decent looking unit and the price was def right.

Does anyone know where sound clips are avaliable for this type of exhaust? Its really cheap and I like the looks of it but it may be too loud.

I am now leaning towards the M4 GP exhaust. anybody have one of these?

It all depends on the type of riding you do, a short "GP"
style exhaust without a collector is simply too loud for
anything other than Starbucks & back, plus the fact it's
a ticket magnet. Try to do 500-700km/day like we do during
the summer with your 'Racefit'and then tell me what you think...
The Yosh tri oval cone end, in carbon or ti works well and
looks decent imo
