I'm heading out to Harrison for one last bike trip with the lady this year and need some suggestions (yeah, I know, Harrison isn't exactly a huge trek... well... suck it).

I don't know where the deals are to be had, which hotel is the best, and whether to spend extra cash on a second hotel night or go for a spa package for the two of us.

I know a lot of you head up there on a regular basis on your little two-wheeled lawnmowers, so could you help a brother out? I've been searching on the net and everything just gets more confusing.

Any help on Hotels, Spa's or Local sights would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Minter Gardens is super cool. It's got plants and dirt, what could be more fun! I'd skip the spa treatment in favor of an extra night, during which you could have a little fun with some body oil, edible lube and what ever else little goodies make their way into your tank bag.

The bonus is someone else cleaning up that mess. :laughing

Well between you and me, they have some kick ass hotsprings. Keep it on the downlow though, before you know it everyone will know and they will name the fucking town after them.

my boyfriend and i went there for september long weekend... we stayed at the Harrison resort...it was AWESOME... we got a package with the buffet breakfasts and a night at the copper room... ya it's kinda for the older people as it is a classic "dinner and dancing" deal but you get to get all dressed up and get pissed... the next day he rented a speed boat and we spent the day on the water it was great... the harrison resort is really nice... i would totally recommend it.

My entire family did the same thing the week after you. The copper room had good food and was fun with the dancing and music afterwards, although targeted for a family crowd.

The pools are nice as well.

The service is pretty good overall.

:eek Just in case that comment isn't scarcasum... At best Harrison is a naturally heated heavily chlorinated pool, far from being an actual hot spring.

Myself, I was disgusted when I took the family up there in May. Growing up in the Kootenay's I guess we were spoiled with our natural hotsprings Ainsworth, Nakusp, Halcyon, and Radium.

That's where we're going, but the packages were all sold out.

Thanks for the advice though!

Sarcasm? hell no. Think about it, how stupid would it sound to call a town "Harrison Hot Springs" Thats whats going to happen if the secret gets out.

Harrison Resort is pretty much the only decent place to stay.

A travel agent for a 2-day trip? I'd rather just ask a smartass Quasi-local like Adam112 and not have to pay for it.
Ah.
Perhaps travel agents in your corner of the world charge a commision to the traveller.
They don't in Canada, the US, South Pacific, Hawaii, Europe, the Carribean, Mexico or any other place I've been to.
They are free to the traveller, and yes, are worthwhile for a 2, 1, or 100 day trip.
*sigh*
You really gotta get out more.:laughing

If you take Hwy 7, look for my rash marks...they're still there. Have a great weekend there...let's hope the weather stays decent.
