First off using some periods to split your ideas into separate sentances would make all that a LOT easier to read.

What do you mean by slash cut? Like just chop the stock can? If that is what you mean then there's lots of problems with doing that depending on the internal construction of the stock can. If you're talking about something like Borderline did with his bike then forget it. PUlling off the entire muffler and leaving an open header on any sportbike is like sticking a light on your helmet and screaming for someone to give you a noise violation ticket. There's noise and then there's NOISE! ! ! ! ! An open header will get you into a lot of trouble and most deservedly so. That ain't good public relations for you or the rest of us. Keep some sort of muffler on it for all our sakes.

And it's back PRESSURE, not back draft. Back draft is something you get when your pants are hanging low... :D

As with any mod to a motorbike, you'll have to tune it to reap the benefits of it. We've all heard of full exhaust systems actually causing a loss in power over the stock units. Your '00 is fuel injected, get a Power Commander and have it tuned once you upgrade the exhaust. You want a small, loud exhaust? Interesting. Most exhausts are the same size, but are rather different sounding. Check out some members' bikes and see what you like, go from there.

hey.

Hey my bike is 2000 gsxr 600 so its carbed. I was thinking of a shorty type exhaust. Maybe something like the jardine gp1 exhaust. I used periods.

:headbang And we all are the happier for it :headbang

:D

Well SOME can is better than none for sure.

You mean the 12 inch shortie cans like in....

Never mind, I found out what a GP1 is all about. BTW, anyone else think that the Jardine website sucks? Had to go elsewhere to find it. So it's a belly can with a long exit tube. That may be a nice compromise. But it's still going to be damn loud since the can is so short.

If you're living somewhere that the neighbours are going to complain then this will likely still get them calling the city quick like. Go easy around home with it.

dont bother with the open header thing ,its a lot louder than yu think and you gonna piss off pretty much everybody .If its a very limited use bike ,you can pull it off ,if its a daily rider you wont have it for long .

mine is 125bd and pretty much a ticket absorbing mod.

hey

yeah i was thinking an exhaust like boarderline has in the pic. my neighbors dont complain, cuz the dude has a chopper and the dude on the other side has a harley. so im good like that but i dont want it too loud just something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x30Z58teSH8&mode=related&search= or if you have the motorcyclist magazine issue for oct 06 look on page 88, and page 84 im looking for that type of exhaust. preferably the exaust on page 84. what do you think? cheers

the rest of borderline's exhaust is the header... there's no sound reduction whatsoever.

in fact, it might actually be louder with the end on there because of the way it increases in diameter (like a bell/megaphone)

honestly its a pretty bad idea ,its just gonna piss everybody off.Its cool for short bursts but all day wil get you a ton of tickets and a bunch of hassles .

that being said at 4grand its not that bad just be prepared to ride around in 4th or 5th gear most of the time if your doing 60km ,At that rpm its pretty normal ,about 95db or so .Not a whole lot louder than a regular pipe .

the pipe is a megaphone piece and a 90 degre elbow from KMS .I think it was about 40 bucks then had it welded by another guy .

i would not recomend it for a daily rider
