I am looking into getting a CBR 929, Carter Honda has a 2 year leftover 2000 cbr 929 blue/yellow. They want 12,000 plus tax but thats $2000 more than I wanna pay. RMS has 2001 CBR 929 which are on sale for $12,500 plus tax. I asked the salesman why they sold that erion honda for $10,500 at the show but now they want 12,500 for the same bike, he said the price was $11,500.
The 929 seem overpriced since the 954rr is in, but the dealers arent willing to make a deal, whats up with that!

Man don't get RIPPED OFF .. The other ppl on this board said they paid $10,500 OTD (including tax and other shit charges) .. I was looking at the 929RR as well and Richmond was gonna sell it to me for $12,500 OTD (including all charges) !!! They trying to pull a fast one on you like they did to me and my RC51 =) haha.

Just tell them .. $10,500 cash .. and You will take the bike RIGHT NOW. Just be prepared to put it where your mouth is =)

Honestly manny, these guys are right. If you can swing the deal RIGHT THEN, that's where YOUR power is. Otherwise it's all just talk and they get talked to by tonnes of people everyday wondering what 'deals' they can get.

Money talks.

$10,500 OTD is like $9300 plus taxes. They want $12,600 plus taxes, thats a $3000 price difference. I think I will give them a written offer of $11,000 OTD, if they dont take it I'll walk.

Play the Dealer fighting game. I did that .. Carter wouldn't budge on their RC51 price. After I went to Richmond .. The Carter guy kept calling me and trying to get me into the store.

"Hey Kevin, come down and seal the deal, I'll make sure our price matches RMS and beat it by way more than your gas money"

Richmond would then lower their price a bit more. I went into Richmond the 3rd time and they really put the pressure on me to sign. I told myself I couldn't squeeze every doller out of the deal and someone has to make their money somewhere. They either get me on my first bike or my 2nd bike. Those sales guys better cut me some slack when I get my next bike.

I found the guy I dealt with at Carter to be fairly persistant as well, and this was in the end of July when I really thought he would have cared less if I came back.

They're always eager for money.

But of course they're are expections, like the new R1, good luck in getting a deal on that. :D

Think of where Carter is as well... All the RICH mofo's from WestEnd, WestVancouver, Downtown go there. $1000 to them is nothing as long as the sales guy shows respect/friendship. Porsche dealership just down the street. Sport package alone on a Boxter is the price of a CBR F4i :D :D

i just found out the deals you guys are talking about were posted deals through richmond honda for the bike show, and the bike mentioned was selling for $10,500 plus freight and so forth ($1500 to be added on) they don't tell you that til time of purchase. If you want a bike just let me know and i'll tell them you guys are from the bcsportbikes and talk to dave laugh. The managers are allready aware that I am trying to set something up so that members can benefit from this. If you have any questions let me know.

Have you checked the Honda Powersports Center at 1st and Boundary? Small place a few doors east off Boundary. I have NO idea what they have or what kind of deals they will give but they DO have lots of bikes there.

And my honest opinion is that you aren't far off at 11000 but be prepared to come up to maybe 11500. For OTD this would still be a killer deal. Hell even the low prices ZX9R's are going for 10900 before the extra charges.

Find out what dknite paid for his 2001 929. He bought it at the show from RMS and I think he paid $10,5 OTD. If that is the case, I would think you should be able to get a 2000 for even less.

Maybe talk to RMS and Carter, do a little wheeling and then pick a day to make a deal. Bring the cash and give it to whichever dealer gives you what you want.

Nice choice of bike though, those 2000 blue/yellows are very nice! I should know, I bought one! :)

Yeah i would totally do some bargaining with them, I got mine at the tradex show $10,500 otd (not the erion though) and when i went to pick it up 2 weeks later they had acouple other leftovers going for $11,500 so the guys at Carter are on crack if they want $12,000 plus taxes n crap for a 2000, heck for a 2000 i would give em $10,000 cash otd heh :) But seriously you just gotta sound the part, and CASH is definatly the best lever in negotiating..

Good luck
and btw you will LOVE the 929,..
929=WHEELIE MACHINE!
