Iridium Windshield?

7297 Views 37 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  eg_hybrid
I'm thinking of replacing the stock windshield with Zero Gravity DB, probably in the dark smoke finish. Which got me to thinking....why don't they make a screen that has the same iridium finish that you can get for helmets? Does anybody make such a screen? I heard about Powerbronze screens from the UK but despite their name, the only finishes they have are the smokes and the colours. Anybody know of anything else?:flashy

Wow, just look at their prices.:eek
Nice screen on the 'Zuke. A bit blue for a red Kwak though. Looks like a good screen.
Wonder if they make any other colors of those. That sure does look purdy.

pretty crazy...
you don't need a new windscreen, just lean forward a lil more and work/stretch those back muscles:tredmill

Nope, probably BK or RMS
Those things are pricey which got me into thinking about cheap alternatives =) Here is my idea ... someone try it out and tell me how it turns out!!! Take the screen off and bring it to a tint shop .. they have MIRROR tint, BLUE tint, GREEN tint, GOLD tint ... they probably got Iridium or RAINBOW tint too ... For a small windscreen .. it probably only cost $20 =) I got my whole car done for only $100??? and the rear window is a bitch to put on!!!

It isn't really my idea .. I went to this tint shop in Richmond and they had a few R6s outside with Blue and White windscreens. They looked pretty trick.

for $20 or so ? MEMEMEMEMEMEMMEMEMEMEMME, Blitz you know of a good place ?
Let's get a group tint going. How many are in?

So far: Farhad, Ms. Bl1tz, and me. Who else?
Go to the place I got my car tinted .. it is a nice shop and they got a few bikes parked inside as well. I hear TrimLine in Richmond does good work too!! But it is just a windshield .. not like the backwindow of a car or worrying about piecing the tint =)

How do they tint at these windshield places? is it spray on or some kind of film?:confused
Most places use a film from 3M or some other company.

That would be used on the inside of a car window? What about waterproofness?
