Loved it. Who was the guy ready to fight you about jumping the curb? That guy was angry.

Also the crash at the very very last scene, on that left hander - what happend there? Looks like your front end just gave out. Oil on the road? On the brakes?

That was corner five at Pacific raceway (Kent WA).

It was the first race weekend of the year(April 3), and it was a cold one.

First race on Saturday was 750supersport. I had a great race, placing 4th.. best finish to date with the Washington racers. A couple hours later was 600ss. The horn went off, and I rushed to get my suit on. It can be difficult to keep track of the race schedule, since it's always changing based on delays. I remove the tire warmers only to discover they are dead cold. My friend next to me unplugged my extension cord going to another buddies generators. "greaaaaatt... i'm late making it to the grid, and now my tires will be rock cold, on a cold track.."

I rush onto my bike, to make the warm-up lap.. everyone already left.. I'm signaled onto the track from the track entry marshal.. I figure the riders are already on the backside of the track, so I gotta catch up a little to make my starting position.

I didn't make it past corner 5. Lost the rear tire. Corner workers said that the backside of the track was slightly wet. Just drizzled before the race start apparently. The track has different elevations, and the backside is in the shade.

The worst part was.. when I entered the track,, the race was already in progress.. the track entry volunteer let me join the race, already in progress. i had no clue.. thought it was still the warm-up lap. Damn!

so yah.. a whole bunch of problems from being late, to having my tire warmers unplugged, and a cold damp track = my scariest and fastest crash ever.

The next race weekend, my race results showed my lack of corner speed confidence. I would rarely touch my knee sliders. Now I was placing 16th, 11th, etc. When the Calgary National finally arrived in June, I went out in practice to discover I was really slow. The previous year, I placed second, and now I was struggling to qualify on the front row. I was getting 1:24's in practice.. well off the race pace. I started to discover lean angle again, on the bumpiest track ever.. (Calgary, bumpy city). I kepted switching bikes from my soft suspension 08, to the harsh suspension of the 05zx but more power (110rwhp). I was doing identical lap times with the bikes, but the 05 wore me out with the rough ride. I made the call to Qualify on the 08zx with only 103rwhp. I've been struggling all year with the 08's lack of power, but it handled great. When I rolled out of the pits on the 08zx, I discovered something was wrong.. the bike was now running much worse.. Wouldn't rev out, bogging down on the straight. I had no choice, but to ride as fast as I could and put down a decent lap time. I qualified 6th. Post race, we dynoed the bike, to discover it now had 86rwhp. doh!.

Took the 05zx out for Saturdays race, and accidently moved forward on the race start, giving me a 5 second jump start penalty. I now had a very difficult task ahead of me. I moved my way up too second place over 6 laps.. and couldn't' even see the first place rider. I worked hard to make a 5 second gap on my pursuer ,, The 5 second jump start penalty.. put me back to 3rd.. by .05 of a second.. was just short of 5sec gap..

Anywho.. I finally found corner speed again.. as my Washington results stayed in the top 10 follwing Calgary and Mosport.

Very entertaining video. Got me all excited for some more track days starting in a few months.
First time I've been in a Miata also, even if it was only the passenger seat for a few seconds :thumbup
