For all you loosers that had to work today I'd like to say you missed MY best ride of the year so far. Mind you, so far it's been my ONLY ride too :D

It was hardly an epic ride. Just a cruise out Hwy7 to the Albion ferry, down the road to Langley for lunch. After lunch Bluestone had to leave so he went north on 200th to hit the freeway and Canadian Gixxer and I went south to 16th and west to 99. 99 doesn't sound exciting and normally I would agree but I had a new pipe to try out and where better than a........ all together now............TUNNEL. The Yosh sounds pretty good at 7 to 8 K with walls on either side. And even with that it was still quiet enough that I could hear the odd sound of CG's stock pipe as he closed the gap during one of my let offs. It sure was good to feel the bike between the legs again ( insert witticisms here :D )

And a word of warning to those with bikes in storage. My tire was a little more slippery than just the cold weather was responsible for. I guess sitting for a couple of months had let the surface harden a little. I had a couple of slips coming out of BK but after the first couple of km's I didn't notice it any more. So just be careful on that first ride for the first couple of klicks and corners. Especially if it's cold out.

Yes it was pretty much straight roads, but got to hit redline on more than one occasion :)

though at the end of the ride when we parted, Canada Way is full of a few nice set of high-speed twisties just before beta ave :) surprisingly little traffic on it, or it could have been that I was blowing by it all hehehe :)

either way, i'm dying for a nice set of curves.... arrgghhh, must find twisty roads..... must find twisty roads....

Glad to hear you guys had a good ride.. I'm stuck at home with a bad case of the flu.. (Teresa loves to share everything.. :p)

I love the tunnel, I go through it everyday to work and never get bored of hearing my exhaust.. I'll challenge you to an exhaust shootout in the tunnel.. Who has the louder pipes? ;)

I'd still wait a month or two for some really twisty roads.. I'm more comfortable with cornering when the roads are warmer.. :)

(Didn't stop me from scrubbing the tire to within a 1/2 inch of the edge getting to our weekend rides tho.. ;) Damn this thing corners well!)

you'd still win without the tunnel while everybody else used it :)

I'm debating switching bikes with someone on a ride this summer so I can ride behind the TLR.. it doesn't sound that loud while on it.. :D

Me next.
And by the way Bruce and Mike, thanks for you patience while I puked at BK! I wish i could have stayed longer but had to do my rrsp's today 'cause the deadline is Friday.
BTW, it only took me about 30-35 mins to get back to West Van, and I wasn't even going that fast!

30-35 mins, that sounds about right, all highway and traffic was very light....

have you been reving your baby up high yet? :) I see you were taking it easy yesterday on the straights.... I was the same way when I got my bike, I didn't want to rev her up high, but now I rev the beeeaattchh :)
