C'mon it's for the Kids!! open to all two-wheeled enthusiasts

Jim says the Canyon Carver's have gone the last 7-9 years and will be going again so here's the details from the poster in the shop.

Date: Sunday Sept. 10
Place: Aberdeen Mall (by the Cinema)

10:30am: Gathering
Noon: Show and Shine
1:00 pm: Toy Run muster/start

*They're asking for teenager's gifts when pickin' a gift/toy (I guess they're short on that age group).

If you like hanging with like minded people, and being consumed by the riding enthusiasm, this is something you should be there for. One of the coolest things I have ever seen was bikes in stagger for as far as the eye could see down Columbia street.
And it's for the KIDS.
Hope to see you all there!

Hey Darrin,

Do you have more info re. route/ length/ end, or is there a website to check out.
I have to be in Kamloops on Saturday for a BDO Paintball thingy and BBQ so, if I can find somebody to feed my dogs, than I don't have to go back to Clearwater and I'll be there Sunday morning for sure.

Jimmy probably knows he was talkin' to the chap that dropped off the poster, but I'll try to remember to ask him tommorrow at work and he or I will try and post some hint of what to expect this year, last year ended at Riverside Park at approx. 2pm.

Redlight.... It's an event that occurs in just about every town/city I've been in since I can remember. Go get a new gift that you're gonna bring and donate towards underprivleged kids. (read: they're hoping for more gifts for teens this year).

At a given time "all" the bikes fire up and then parade through town .... the riders with the stuffies usually have them tied on for the ride etc.

Hey riders,
As for information goes times etc it's all above.
I can tell you that it starts at the odeon will go up to Hugh Allan to the top of Summitt. Travel all the down summitt to columbia. From Columbia all the way to the hiway exchange, down the hiway to Tanager up to valleyview drive back into town down Lansdown over the blue bridge to the north shore I think to windbreak up to parkcrest to the westsyde loop thingy out to coopers . turn around there back down 8th st into to town with a wind up at riverside park. Final words prayers etc coffee and donuts. I think its just about 2 hours can't remember.
We'll call it penance for what we do Thursdays and Sundays (karma ya know)

It's a good time, and it gives a chance for us to be seen in a possitive light by the community and the RCMP. Something I think is important for people to remember is we are caring people too. And as Snapperhead pointed out it'll be good Karma!

Question

This will be my first ever official Toy Run. (We didn't really do things like that in Holland.) So you can say I'm a newbie (sort of).
I went to the store today after work, and while I was standing there I was thinking by my self: "What do I buy for a teenager? Does it have to be a toy toy or, can it be any kind of present?"
So, what would be appropriate?
Please, help an alien out here! :surrender

Teens, some are active sporty types, some are into electronics, some are skaters. Bob go ahead and have fun with this, "If you were kid again what seems cool to you nowadays". Don't worry, if you think it's cool there will be a kid out there that will as well....somewhere!
Well, I've got 2 teenage girls so I'm thinkin' of stuff they'd like which kinda makes it easy for me 'cause they "always" tell me what they want me to bring home from work... haa haaa
(girls=clothes or accessories like purses and stuff) or perhaps games or such seems I always know someone that likes boardgames and loves to play 'em when there's friends. Actually, I must admit I tend to hesitate from playing games, but with the right group of friends I usually end up having a blast wondering why I don't join in more, social skills at work I guess.
So remember you're not trying to get something for someone in particular and you don't know their tastes, just get "something" you think would be cool if you were a teen and let the Charity Organization figure out how they fit the bill. Or, watch some teens that are shopping... just don't stare or some security cop will bust ya!

And fun was had by all. About 120 bikes, lots more people. I took lots of pictures, but all are too large for upload limit of this site.

I guess I need to get a pay site. Need to get a MAC, so I can have a .mac space to use.
