pretty easy to use a bolt cutter on a lever and replace it later... Dont think those would help much
yeah maybe but i am in the group that believes that if you have as many locks as possible the theif may just say meh and go after the next one...just my 2 cents
not for gixxers

if you own a gixxer, not much use on the clutch side... too easy to still shift:laughing
snap the lever somehow just before the lock, you still can have the function of the lever, albeit a slight difficult one.
more of an effective visual deterrent for joy-riders or punk thieves.
like Frapps sez... the casual thief may see one of these and move on to something else. park your bikes somewhere public and visible... further to dispel someone with a bolt-cutter for the ball end.
professional thieves? ...unfortunately the only answer is insurance and coverage.
You need one made of Ti :thumbup
pure crap...waste of money. Had one on my bike , but they still got it. They didnt even have to break teh lock on it to get it off. Biggest waste of money.
if you're trying to prevent being able to shift the bike with an invention,
you'd think it would be made to lock the shifter directly, not the clutch.
They need more "quick release" inventions...

Quick release handlebars
Quick release drive chains
Quick release foot pegs
Quick release shifter pedal
Quick release ignition

...yeah, now I'm on to something...

nah, you just need one of those bikes that transforms into a briefcase :coffee

I think the foot pegs and shifter pedals would be a good idea, or quick release break pedals and levers. These would only work for the non truck using thieves, but I think you are onto sumthing. Good call.
get a mason bit and drill and then drill a large hole in the cement and then cement in an eye hook and then chain the bike down to that, will prevent simply lifting it up. As well no petty joy rider will be able to get it going or even bother trying.
I think it is time for me to go the shop and start to make some inventions up... i got one I think might work ....a throttle lock... or do this already have this?

like a cage type thing that goes over the throttle so no one can access it... i think it woudln't be bad of an idea... thats just me..

You can get a disklock that doubles as a footpeg. Idea being you won't forget the disklock is on as you've got nowhere for you feet to rest. None of the things above will stop a thief moving the bike though.

ha ha, i just patented your idea!! yer screwed :)
Several "schools of thought," on this.
1/ Varied visible deterrents will keep the amateurs away, not the pro's.
2/ Gotta think like a thief. Thieves do not mind causing damage to accomplish their goal, so ruining a lever is not a "big deal."
3/ Deterrents that are easy to use have the greatest potential for being used 100% of the time, which is the only time they're effective. Feature the cheap to buy, but usually found in the back seat of stolen vehicles, The Club, for auto steering wheels.
4/ It's not a lot of money, and if brings you an element of peace of mind.....<shoulder shrug>.
Not for me thanks, I prefer other methods of theft deterrent.
you know what i am going to go do...i am going to bring John Wayn back to life and make him sit on my bike when ever i park it and he will be armed to the teeth...no problem with theives, vandilism, parking tickets etc
