New to the boards so I figured I'd introduce myself.

Got my class 6 license with Dat and Chris when Dat was still with Action. Will be buying my "beginner" bike after the motorcycle show next january (haven't decided b/w Ninja 500R and SV650).

I'll be riding out of Surrey, but I don't mind meeting people around the lower mainland for group rides, as long as there's someone willing to ride with me at my pace (and not the other way around :thumbup). And if there are people in Surrey willing to help me find new roads or new techniques, that's cool too.

I've been leaning towards the SV, but have heard that some new riders have had some difficulties with it. I guess it will depend on what's available on the used market at the time for a decent price.

can't go wrong with either one, take one out for a test ride if you feel up to it. That way you get a real feel for it

Looks like it's going to be the SV (no...I'm not heavily influenced by peer pressure at all!)

I will still take a couple of bikes for test rides in february just to make sure.
