Hey I just got a cbr 600rr and I want to make the engine sound like its chugging when it idles, kinda like cars with big cams. My buddy's gsxr sounds like that but he got the bike that way so he doesn't know how to change it. Theres a link below to a bike that sounds the way I want it. Any ideas?

Maybe: Try turning your idle way down. A bit tough on the bike though... but not too bad. Not sure this will work...

The reason the bike in the video idles "lumpy" is because the throttle bodies are not synched properly. If you want your bike to sound like that just put another 15 to 20,000 kms on it. The throttle bodies will naturally go out of synch over time. Incorrectly synched throttle bodies are only an issue at idle. Once the engine is revved up it has no effect, unless they are very badly unbalanced.

Well assuming that a shop could balance your throttle bodies, you might also be able to ask them to unbalance them... Prepare for funny looks.

hmmmm

buy a zx10r...they have a natural 'cam lope' to them. i have owned 3 & all three of them had that distinct sound once they hit operating temp, at idle. i know my bike is ready to ride without even looking at the temp guage.....just listen for the lope!:rockon

on another note: i am pretty sure that all three bikes could not have had the throttle bodies out of sync...especially when my 08 only had 1900kms on it when i bought it.

maybe i'm mistaken....who knows...who cares?????

i hope you get your bike to sound the way you want it to without messing it up.
