New Suzuki Dealer in Surrey

Just to let you guys know if you didn't already, theres a new dealer in town. Their known as Motorcycle World on King George and 106th. It is owned by two guys that used to work for Daytona (bad word huh). Dan was the Senior Parts guy and Brian was the Sales Manager @ Daytona. Its too bad that they have to start off with a bad rep. due to Daytona. Carlos which was a Mechanic @ Daytona has now joined them also. They just got a shipment of 20 or so new Suzuki's in last week.

sweet, thats not too far from me. Just might take my zook there if I ever have problems <knocks on wood>

Do they have a accessories/parts area open up yet?

Yes, the whole Daytona name sends shivers down a few spines. I have often heard that the best thing about Daytona was their going out of business sale!

Their parts and access dept's are open, but not alot of stock so far. I think they're going to do alot of stuff "on order". I don't blame them, go to any shop and you'll find 5 year old gear and accessories.

I would go, but have no cash to spend right now. Insurance is due this Saturday for me

I know the feeling, I've got to knock off a $$$ fine before I get insurance Wednesday (not to mention the shop bill and insurance).

You think we could save money by getting our comprehensive coverage thru a private company? Cause thats the killer on sportbikes from icbc.

I can only afford 3months at a time, too expensive. oh well

Stay away from the shop people, I have dealt with Brian and he is a lying crook and I will not deal with him or that shop ever. I got my first bike from Daytona....BAD BAD EXPERIENCE, NEVER AGAIN....

Can't get private comprehensive insurance for bikes, i don't think, unless there is another company other than Canadian Direct that does it. They won't do sportbikes, or people who have been driving for less than 10 years either (for cars).
All the adds you may see about cheaper insurance or special comp deals are for 10+ motorcycle veterans.
But if you've been riding for more than 10 years, go for it! Some of us should be saving mone somewhere!

oh well.... I'm still pissed at ICBC changed the rates to 5% instead of the 10% a year for claim free driving/riding

I have no idea, I was hoping someone else would do the legwork and report back!

If not, I will have to make the call myself, but not for a couple weeks. I will post any results at that time if no one has come to the rescue before then.

Whatever happened to Fenton from Daytona. I dealt with him once and he's a stand up guy. I have no experience with the others, but Fenton bailed me out of a spot and I still think I owe him one.
