what/who do you see as the marxist education system?

do you not see any irony in your statement/proclamation of western society as the greatest in mankind's history?

also wondering if you see any irony in your detestation of Marx considering the influence of his work?
A Karl Marx admirer. Is it even worth engaging?
Just do a quick google search on the death count of communist dictatorship enforcement. It’s really quite sad.

I didn't recall mentioning I was a Marx admirer, any chance you can you point out in my post where I said that?

Besides that glaring error, your opinion of Marx's theories and the Communism systems enacted in some nations highlights how your understanding of some concepts is critically limited by your own biases against anything that seems to represent left wing, liberal or socialist ideology. As for your question of whether it's worth engaging, I don't think it's possible for you to engage as you're not open to anything that doesn't align with your developed belief system. That's where the irony part comes in; you've benefited from policies that have roots in the things you detest.

OMG. Our current lifestyle in all its social grace, is a complete result of independent capitalism. All the medical advances, engineering advances, structural, social, all a result of a system that have a great idea a great chance.
I worked along side a fellow for 10 years who fled eastern Germany. He worked in the Trabant car factory. He wanted no more of it. He escaped, a lucky sprint across the fence system to western Germany. Imagine getting shot at if you decided to leave Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, USA? Communism not only spends most of its time trying to steal the west’s technological advances to copy, it forbids its captive population to escape, because most everyone would escape.

The west does not need defending. Communism is impossible to defend. Anyone who gives any credence to the mantra of Marxism has been brainwashed by a nefarious source or power.
Watching cultural Marxism in action around the west the first 7 months of 2020, destroying reminders of the west’s history even with its nasty warts, is classic 1st wave Marxism.

Ahahahah - your concept of history is interesting. It's like the world started in 1950.

Not. It took more than 70 years to build this current society and all its technological achievements. But you know this. Steam power IMO was the beginning.

Surely you can recognize that this isn't a black /white conversation? Do you honestly think that things like public education, health care, and most public services would exist under a solely independent capitalist system? I also get the impression that you don't know much about Marx or his theories (not like I'm a scholar there by any means) and the impact his writings have had on the western world. That's why I started this by saying that anything that exists outside of your limited belief system is simply seen by you as trash.

Here's a question, when/where do you think civilization really began to take off and and how/why did that happen? A hint is that it didn't happen in what is now known as Western Europe.

Today's "Western Civilization". You tell me the origin of today's western society, seeing as you're the self anointed expert on things.

I don't consider that part of the world, whether 5000 years ago, and especially within the last 125 years, to be the start of the western world's many gifts to humanity, present standard of living, technology, etc.
Why don't we conduct a conversation on the topic at hand, instead of trying to childishly "trick" and reduce the value of the other person's viewpoints by considering throwing around what you consider a 'big complicated word'. Mesopotamia? Seriously? Step it up man.

Back to the conversation. Please give me examples that modern western capitalism is not responsible for the vast majority of technology we enjoy today? Please give me example that modern western capitalism is not responsible for bringing the largest world population out of stark poverty than any other system?

Your scope is too narrow. You brought forward the idea of "western society being the greatest society in mankind's history" and now you're trying to reduce that to modern technology. You're shifting the goal posts away from the gauntlet that you threw down. So yeah, if you want to talk about great societies then you need to go back to the beginning when they first started.

We are living on earth in 2020, where humanity, generally, has never had it better. Western society cannot control China holding 1 million of the citizens in recent education camps’, it cannot stop the current live and operational slave trade , or murder of gays happening in the Middle East, nor can it stop the treatment of women as nothing more than male possessions. But there is no denying our standard of living today is a result of the success of Western society.

Hey . Hi!

man I wish this forum could self resuscitate.

Steve’s still in here bein confused, synchro’s still touting the virtues of a communist environmental collective, Dna’s still trolling everyone with high-end mysticism. You even got a Kerunt back who, iirc, had an epic, how to stop sign, thread.

anyone else still alive?

I come here to read the new bike day threads when they appear but outside of that, it seems to be pretty done. Sure great timing when this was sold because it was essentially worthless.
