I didn't recall mentioning I was a Marx admirer, any chance you can you point out in my post where I said that?
Besides that glaring error, your opinion of Marx's theories and the Communism systems enacted in some nations highlights how your understanding of some concepts is critically limited by your own biases against anything that seems to represent left wing, liberal or socialist ideology. As for your question of whether it's worth engaging, I don't think it's possible for you to engage as you're not open to anything that doesn't align with your developed belief system. That's where the irony part comes in; you've benefited from policies that have roots in the things you detest.
OMG. Our current lifestyle in all its social grace, is a complete result of independent capitalism. All the medical advances, engineering advances, structural, social, all a result of a system that have a great idea a great chance.
I worked along side a fellow for 10 years who fled eastern Germany. He worked in the Trabant car factory. He wanted no more of it. He escaped, a lucky sprint across the fence system to western Germany. Imagine getting shot at if you decided to leave Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, USA? Communism not only spends most of its time trying to steal the west’s technological advances to copy, it forbids its captive population to escape, because most everyone would escape.
The west does not need defending. Communism is impossible to defend. Anyone who gives any credence to the mantra of Marxism has been brainwashed by a nefarious source or power.
Watching cultural Marxism in action around the west the first 7 months of 2020, destroying reminders of the west’s history even with its nasty warts, is classic 1st wave Marxism.
