According to the www.motonation.com website:

A replaceable bolt on plastic shin plate. Optional panels are available in chrome and carbon fiber.
The Vertebra 2 is the only race boot to offer and adjustable calf system designed to accommodate calves of virtually any size in a clean, supportive and protective design.
The toe shift pad has been redesigned to eliminate pressure points when walking.
The front of the Vertebra 2 features a new-cleaner design to set it apart from the market copycats.

Those are the differences between the 1 & the 2.

Re: Re: OPINIONS on SIDI VERTEBRA (CROMOS)

I have a pair of Sidi Vertebra Race which I bought in '98. Unfortunately I tested them out twice and believe me, they are superb boots. In both cases I low-sided and I slide with the weight of the bike on my boots. I suffered zero damage. I'm sure other high end boots are just as good but since I've "tested" the Sidi's, I'll definitedly buy another pair.

Let me know where you are getting your Chromos. I might want to replace mine if I can get a decent deal. I think new ones are close to $600 (?)

BTW, I can't believe some of you wear runners. Suffer one spill and you'll know what I mean. I wear full leathers, boots and gloves no matter where I ride or what the weather is like.
Just thought you might wany to know, but you just sold me on buying some Sidi Vertebre 2's.

Good work. :D
