I usually have motorcycle parts shipped to the "Letter Carrier" at Point Roberts (you can find the address and phone number on the web).

Basically I have the parts shipped there. The letter carrier charges a couple of dollars to hold the package. You drive down, pick it up, and then pay only GST+PST at the border. Oh yeah, they call you when the package arrives.

Granted, I haven't done this since 9-11 but the Point Roberts border should be no longer than 2-3 minutes to get across.

This way, I save on all the brokerage fees AND many web sites offer free ground shipping to anywhere in the continental US.

That's all,

Basilcally you cross the border and its 2-3 blocks on the right.
You can call or email them for their holding rates.

As far as duty goes, I have not paid duty on anything I have ever bought: Germa Car Parts, Vanson Leathers, etc, M4 muffler, etc.

Mmmmm...

Every time I cross the border the camera takes a picture of your license plate. I assume they put it in a database with the time and date and that it pops up when you come back across the border.

Even on my M/C they come out and take my plate number if the camera can't see it.

But hey, maybe I'm paranoid..
