Best back roads

Some of the best back roads are right where you are planning . A must do route, is Hwy 245 , just south of Baker City.Better to do it out and back and back out again, and again.... This road flows good both ways, but I am a little partial to the south run. Good clean pavement. As with all these mountain roads , it may have some rocks on tight technical corners as you approach the mini summit. Although it may look and feel like a track, please remember to watch for oncoming traffic. The only thing missing with this road is the red and white coloured inside curb markers!

I have all of August off to revist my second home away from home this year

Looks like fun however I wouldn't spend so much time on the I5, prefer #20 to Twisp then S on 97 to Winachee Day 1, and maybe repeat on last day or at least E on #20. Just me.

Average day is 300km(ish). Lots of time for pictures, I figure a maximum of 5 hours of riding in a 7 hour day (9am to 4pm). That leaves at least an hour for lunch and another hour for breaks and pictures with a ton of time left over every day.

I started with that route but dumped it in favour of getting there a little quicker because I've ridden that area a ton of times already. On the way back, I think we'll all just want to get home but I'm open to detouring and exploring if the group wants to. Depends how hard we party on Oregon on Friday/Saturday.

The Utah trip was 700km/day average. This one is going to be tons of awesome roads but lots of time to "holiday" as well. Easy starts, long lunches, lots of time for pictures and well hydrated dinners. The twisty sections are all insanely technical and there's no way I want to do 500km+ of that a day. So, who wants to come along?

Thanks for the routes Slingshot. :flashy Wifey and I got back a couple of days ago from our first ever Oregon trip and it was awesome. The road builders of BC and Washington should be taking lessons from those in Oregon. Such good pavement and great scenery. No drama, no close-calls, just good riding and we found brew pubs at the end of the day. Important to hydrate and good to walk around after a day of riding!
