I lust after any BMW police bike and always wantone for a city bike then I get out my old BMW service files, read the invoices and remember why I ride a 'wing

However this does appear to be a good deal on a clean low mileage police bike

Question would any of you ride an ex police bike still in the police colours?

I never thought American was using non-US brand vehicles for police. Monette Sports in Quebec is always have them in stock from Laval or Montreal Police:

I briefly rode an old BeeMer (74 R9) with a massive white touring fairing and I had an old military police motorcycle helmet (actually said MP on it - black and white) and it was hilarious how traffic would behave around me. Cars would slow right the fuck down and everyone would drive like saints.

I restored the bike to be a cafe racer but it was a riot for the few weeks I kept it in that condition.

:rockon damn that's a nice looking bike. If you don't mind the fact that it's been ridden around like the town hoar, then take it (it'll have a lot of mileage, but probably well maintained by the police). If you are serious about the bike then budget what it would cost to make the bike not look like 5-0. I would personally add hot rod flames to it imho.

Did you find you got around faster or slower because everyone was slowing you down?

Same thing happens with the folks who buy ex-police cars.
I've heard a number bitch because they never can go anywhere fast because other drivers think it's a ghost and slow down to the limit.

I'd like a KZ1000, but no other type.
Absolutely leave it in the Police livery - why not?
I think I'd enjoy the different reactions it might provoke, and be an ace tourer into the bargain.
