Well, since my bike's getting some trick work done I was feeling the need to get the hell out of dodge and at least give the car a bit of attention. So after a late saturday night installing a racing steering wheel and gear shift lever from OMP; I had to test out my new gear before I hit the track on October 4th, so I figured the Duffy was a good way to do it. I called a buddy to go, and sure enough the Porsche club was heading up on the very same day. So @ 7:00 a.m. we headed out.

FYI: SAV and I forgot our camera, so there really aren't any pics of us.

Pit in Pemberton

Checking Oil in Pemberton (I had to move all my nicely folded clothes to get down to my oil canisters... it's not usually THAT messy under the boot!)

New Cayman (1500km at the start of the trip)

3 generations of 911

3.2 Carrera's (mine's in the middle)

3.2's again

Duffy Lake

Lillooet

Overall it was a good time... not really any rain and not a SINGLE cop! And I was surprised, these guys could really drive.

You'd think a porsche club would be full of a bunch of snobby pricks, but if you consider the fact that most of these cars can be had for $15,000 to $50,000 it's not that out of reach. and the cayman was the only car worth 80+.
All in all, it was a good time.... for a cage ;)

I saw you guys heading down the canyon on Sunday. i was on the mud covered BMW 1150gs.

I was doing about 145 and was passed like I was standing still by a couple of those cars.

Looked like you all had a ton of fun.
Nice stuff. Thanks!
Funny you mention the snobbery factor; I, too, assumed it would be a club filled with over-rich lawyers and doctors. :D
I saw you Canuck. ;)

They all look the same :devillook
I know they do... they all look good! ;) Go back to dreaming about Ferrari's. :laughing

Did I mention my victory at Portland international against a 2003 Modena yet Phil? I wasn't sure. ;)

Ya you were telling me about that night you had a nightmare and woke up...
Saw you guys coming the other way. I was in my silver jeep. Tell the silver boxter driver to learn how the hell to drive or get the hell off the road, as he or she nearly creamed me taking up half my lane in a blind corner.

This is what I was doing this weekend.

They may have been not in the group, the car was about 2 km behind. Seeing the pics, I don't see one either.
I dont see a Silver Boxter in those pics?
That's because there wasn't one.
Dude, unless you got naked pics, stop posting this. Nobody cares.

But if you do post naked pics, though, make sure you have "Scott & Sav" plastered all over them in big bright bold red letters. I know Phil loves that shit.
Have any pics of wrecked Porsches? I love those! :evilgrin

PS-thats just a normal Cayman right?...not as S...
what? no 914's? losers.

Yep, it's just s regular one. Still is a really cool car. Can't believe how cheap they are.

Mind you, they're not really all that fast. ;)

$80,000 for a hardtop Boxter? A little much I think...even $100,000+ for a Cayman S. I'd rather buy a C6 Z06 to beat Porsches and Ferraris. :laughing

I better stop Porsche bashing...Scott might start crying. :laughing :coffee

$69K base for the regular Cayman, not too bad.

And buddy, I can outdrive most guys in faster cars... no need to apologize. You wanna take that Z06 to Portland and put your money where your mouth is? ;)

EDIT: Why am I defending Caymans? Well, they're not my favorite car... but they are better deals than those POS Ferrari's :)

Caymans are just overpriced POS's. Its funny when car manufacturers come out with detuned cars so they are not faster then their trademark cars.

I could outdrive you in the '03 Z06 :p
I'm down. I got 500 bucks on the dressed up bug.

Anybody else down? Phil vs Scott in a motor madness showdown.
