Gauntlets for anything further than two minutes from home. For banging around town, I would like to have a pair of shorties.

i have both. like jason said, shorties are great for cruisin around town, gaunts are better for the longer stuff. keeps the wind off and i'm gonna dare to say they fatigue you less than shorties, sort of similar to wearing a hoodie under your riding jacket and the hood is in the wind pulling on you and blowing around.

:)You can always loosen up and/or shorten a gauntlet, but you can't make a shortie 'longer'.

:devillook Git yer mind outta the gutter...

I own two pairs of shorties, one no-name leather and another of Joe Rocket Ballistic waterproof textile gloves. (They have lots of leather too.)

My next pair of gloves will definitely be gauntlets though.
