I'm trying to get an idea of what we will be dealing with for the noise issues for this coming race/practice season.

I need some information from the guys that plan on coming out to F440 or any of the RPM races.

-What brand of bike are you riding?
-What exhaust are you running on your bike (stock or what brand aftermarket)
or
-What is the diameter of your inner exhaust pipe?

This survey is merely for me to get an idea of what I will need and how to approach the quiet pipe situation.

Thank you for your replies.

Zook DR350 sportsman stock pipe and a slip on, no idea what brand but its a tad loud... probably nothing compared to the 450's though. I'm hoping not to be riding it anymore by next year, but Ill try and get measurements anyway

well the good news is that the 3' long blue flame issue (with backfiring) has been solved... bad news is that the pipe is still remarkably thunderous.:evilgrin

In any event:
1. KTM 625 SMC
2. Big Gun Race
3. 1-7/8" inside dia.

I'm anticipating next year's riding/racing season with much interest and a big tip-of-the-hat to those individuals that are putting so much into making our sport better.

(if the db-Dawg doesn't fit the Big Gun I'll dig through the bottom of the tickle trunk for a suitable butt-plug):eek

Down here our rule is 98db at 100 feet.

The only pipes that won't pass: FMF ti4, CHM, White Bros E series. The stock pipes on the 05/06 250 sxfs are loud in the pits, but are no louder than any other bike on the track.

For me, I'm converting the 450SMR to mx, the 250sxf is now my only race bike with a leovince x3 CF exhaust (suspensio/wheels/brakes/etc swapped between the 2).

I have a CRF450X with the stock pipe in current non-motard trim, but the 450X pipe is quiet. All I need are wheels :D

dr350

got a dr350. havent measured the pipe. its a super trap and its quite loud, comapred to stock but nothing too loud. hope i wont be using this bike though..i looked at that site for the noise reduces and the plugs u put in the pipe. will they work on a super trap, where there is no hole in the back just air coming out of the sides. where the plates are added or removed... quieting the bikes on a track is a good idea, as long as they this wont be mandated by icbc for street use...

noise

Street legal cr500. I have a stock silencer, procircuit and an FMF S/A. I'm gonna experiment with all of them and figure out what's best. I think the fmf spark arrester will be quietest. Anybody used one of these? They look like ass, but might be worth it. http://www.thedbsnorkel.com/ Also, how many guys are running the dbdawg?

I also have an xr650r street legal that's got the stock muff. uncorked with the HRC insert. I think that one will be ok for noise. Might be wrong. It sounds quiet after getting off the CR.
