Riding with DucRacer and Ray.
I picked up a speeding ticket by "association"

DucRacer and Ray passed a Conservation Officer at speed on a double yellow. (Idaho)
He eventually caught up to Ray about 10 miles later.

I caught up to DucRacer and warned him that Ray had been pulled over. DucRacer realized that his head was on the chopping block, too. Off we went, not knowing that a Sheriff was headed our direction.

So far I haven't been hit by anything but bugs!

The Ducati's on the ride are having a tuff go of it.
Two on the trip, one has been in the shop once and the other twice.
Clutch, head bolt leak and main bearings

Tomorrow, off to Moab, Utah

That sucks about the ticket. Is this ticket by 'association' even legal? Unless he had you on radar or some form of speed measuring device, I don't think it will stand up. However, is it worth your time to fight a ticket in the US? Probably not.

Me and a buddy were riding down 99 towards the border and my buddy gunned it past a cop. I kept cruising below the speed limit but when he caught up after turning around he gave us both "exessive speeding" tickets. I'm in the process of a dispute. $500 ticket for riding below the speed limit:surrender

If a cop will shoot first and ask questions later (and they have) do you think he would hesitate to give out speeding tickets like candy at halloween and then let a judge figure it out?

I blame women for all this. If they refused to have any sexual relations with cops on the traffic squad there would be no traffic squad and the S2S could return to its proper place on the WMRC schedule.

Might be, in that jurisdiction. I suspect there's more information to be hand (as in: radar, visual sighting or other confirmation of "speed," or the allegation of speed)

Problem is, he only radars one individual. They don't have two radar guns running tracking multiple targets. The other 'associated' rider gets the visual speeding ticket. This is assuming any radar was used and it wasn't all purely visual.

Visual stands up in court unfortunatly. They are masters of estimating the speed of moving objects over distance.

If you don't go back to the states I don't see any reason to pay the thiefen pricks.
But if they find you down there with an outstanding warrent, they will throw you in jail.

Aren't tickets in the states associated with the plate of the vehicle? I heard that if you change you plate they can't track the ticket to your new plate when crossing the boarder or are pulled over.

Don't think so. They have your name, address, BC driver's license number in addition to your plate. The infraction goes with the motorist, not the motor.

May sound like a stupid question, but isn't one of the baseball teams from New York called the Yankees? Last time I checked they weren't that far south. Americans are all referred to as yanks, well at least in this day and age.

maybe by you but not by me. i know the definition of what a Yank is and am respectfull of those who don't feel the south will rise again!! hahahahahahaha anyone remember that episode of South Park where Jimbo and his buddy's little Union group started re-enacting the war of 1812 then got carried away and started re-taking the south??

With the 3 of use riding together, who's know who the winners will be.

After leaving Moab this morning, we stopped in www.gatewaycanyons.com and telluride.
A couple of light showers.
