If I'm bring in my bike to a shop for spring tune up, what should I expect the shop to do/change ? Will they sync the carb for me or will I have to ask for that ?

ummm....spring tune up ? I have never had that done, just 5k, 10k, and 20k tune ups....so I gather a spring tune up will be similar to a 5k tuneup.....

* oil and filter change
* air filter cleaned
* spark plugs changed
* valves adjusted
* carbs. sync.
* all torque nuts checked
* brake fluid changed
* overall once over of the bike.......

did I miss anything ? I am going my spring "tuneup" at home, going to skip the carb and valve till 15k.....

yeah im just gonna be doing my own "spring tune up" as well at home.

no need to pay cash out for that.... simple things like that should be done at home... good opportunity to "get to know" your bike... kinda like "quality time"... haha :laughing
I agree. Most shops will rape you for unneccessary work. I can see paying for them to chack the valve clearances, but when they throw in $50 for something like "checking the nuts, bolts and fasteners" it's time to do some stuff yourself.
And really, how much of a tune-up is required? My bike went into storage near the end of November, and it was put to rest in excellent condition. Other than an oil change, I do not really see myself doing anything else for the new season.

Did you change the oil prior to hibernation?
Thanks everyone :)
My bike for some reason, either in summer or winter, it need couple at least 2 to 3 start in order to get the engine running. And the engine just hestitate when under low RPM running. I thought they may look into this at the same time. Could it be the carb need sync ?

It sounds like carb synching if it happens in summer and winter. Your bike should idle without wavering with the choke off.
When did suzuki introduce the fuel injection ? Was it in 99 or 2000 ? Guess Xenz bike was just before.

Not right before. It had a scheduled check-up about one month before I took it off the road, and an oil change was done then. I do not have to worry about fogging carbs or any of that stuff, I am hoping I can just change the oil and go.

If you didn't ride too much during that month, then you might not even need to change the oil. Although as they say, you can't change it too often.

is it bad to change the oil and filter too often?
i did the 1k thing at bk and changed the oil and filter again (total km was around 2500?) when i put the bike in storage

I'm not sure either :p How am I able to distinguish a FI and a non-FI gixxer ?

I don't know how to do carb sycnhing, I guess I need some specific tools to do that right ? OTOH, my bikes idle okay, just when I riding in, let say, 2nd gear with 8K RPM, and slow down to 4K and go back up, the bike hestitate/choke a little bit, if I pull the clutch in a tiny bit it will help smooth it out. I'm not sure if it's a problem or was it just need to be downshift.

96-97 750's are carbs.
98+ 750's have FI.
97-2000 600's are carbs.

all new style gixxers, 2000+ 750's and 2001+ 600's & 1000's have FI.

carbon build up ? what quality fuel are you using and are you just dwidling the bike at 5-6 k rpm ? these bikes are made to scream man, you need to take them to red line in all the gears....do it and I am sure you bike will be starting fine.....I pretty much do that atleast once a week.....
