!!! STOLEN !!!

My brand new 07 DR650 in Black, was stolen sometime in the past few nights from my place in Nanaimo. Its bone stock, and when last seen was wearing 2 locks (front disk brake lock and chain around rear wheel and swingarm), had ~650 km on the ODO, and plate K18876. IF you do see one about please to do contact the RCMP case # 20061227-50554, as there are few 2007 DRs out on the roads as of yet.

Attached is the best pic I have of the bike, taken a couple weeks ago.

Yep, absolutely stock... although I've got a bunch of motard mod parts waiting to be put on it... *grumble* last filled the tank at 641Km, its got fresh Motomaster oil in it, the petcock was off, and the label on the oil filter was almost level right side up, the disklock was a beat up OnGuard short Ulock, chain on rear a generic steel bike chain w/ 4 digit roller combo and VIN ends in 0053, thats about as detailed as I can get...
Its now listed up on CPIC w/ the RCMP so the bike and all parts trackable and now worthless to thieves in North America and I hope some nut job tries to sell it and gets caught.

That sucks.:rant
I don't understand how any person can look at someone else's motorcycle and make the decision that they should take it for him/herself.

Shitty news. I feel for you, after having just recently bought a 2007 KLR650. 963 kms logged so far.

From your photo, is that a parkade you're in?

I'll keep an eye out in case your ride ends up in my neighbourhood.

Well... some good/bad news.

She has been recovered...
However, she's missing parts, is damaged, and who know what other defilements have happened to her once pristine body and soul.

Just got the call from the RCMP, the bike was found in the south part of the Nanaimo area (would not release addr ) at a location 'known' to the RCMP for a known group along w/ another stolen bike and items.

I haven't seen her yet, but the officer told me that she's missing her tank, seat, all the plastic, and is missing some mechanical parts and is visibly damaged.

So, don't buy any 'used' black 07 DR parts on the island, as they're probably mine and will warrant a knee capping.

Now on to round 2 w/ ICBC, god only knows how long it will take. And yes it was fully insured but its still a process of time it all, and delays, and this and that. I HATE this, I just wanna RIDE...

:( Really sorry this happened to you but at least the -sad- story's come full circle. ICBC will be fair with you as it was clearly a new bike (ie: no question as to its value) and 'the story' is pretty straightforward. Now you can start looking for another bike.

:cool To speed things along with ICBC from this point, permit me to suggest that you project only "sweetness and light" and avoid any adversarial predicaments. Nobody wins in such a case; keys to your new bike will just get delayed. ;)
