Hmmmmmm not sure if the list of speakers are qualified to speak about motorcycles. Unless they have their own shop. Since I am a non-member, what will the $3 give me in return that I can't get from this free forum? Thanks

Tigon, Thanks for your critical comment everytime. Actually, if you think you are qualified for our speaker list, you are welcome to be the speaker for this event.

The fact is, a lot of newbies or people who are just interested in bikes DO NOT know about BCSB yet. :rockon we will tell them about this site for sure

dont forget to show clips of accidents.. no one should hop onto a motorcycle until they fully realize what these machines can do to you.

just for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cndtO8YBGTw

ride like a hooligan n you'll get hurt like one

hammer that reality into their head.. we dont need more squids.
thanks very much for the idea.

That is correct. we seriously want to eliminate some potential squids out there

thanks for the invite, but i would not consider myself qualified to speak at such a forum. and am still critical at why the $3?
i am glad that you will be telling the new riders about bcsb, that is really great !! i have met alot of newbies that were not aware of bcsb but never charged them or has the website ever charged them any fees.
the new rider's network that bill and bernie conducted never charged a fee other than chip in for the bbq. you should give bernie and bill a call and have them be your speakers. i learn something new at every new rider's network seminars. or you can ask an instructor from one of the motorcycle schools.
it is all about making sure that the newbies have good information so that they learn to be safe out there.

In fact, the $3 fee is free for members at this event. Most of our events are free for members. Our executive team volunteer to work very hard for every event; however, there are costs to run every event and things don't come cheap sometimes even after hard budgeting.

hey man I think we should give them a hand given that they are volunteering their own time in helping out our community! $3 is seriously nothing!

Whoa, what the hell is all this pissing over 3 loonies for? Does anyone here seriously think that you can do stuff for free anymore? I remember when I was in uni organizing things they would charge big for powerpoint projectors, try to squeeze room booking admin fees out of you and they sure didn't just give away copy paper.

Events that are held at a shop are sponsored by the shop via facility access and maybe snacks. But this is on-campus for student convenience. And posting an event ad here is different than printing actual posters for people who've never seen this site (not like the site's free to run either). Maybe some day it'll get to bcsb's level where sponsor and ad money covers everything but that doesn't happen overnight. If you know how to make it happen presto then I'm pretty sure they'd love to hear it.
