i just started reading this book....

RIDE HARD RIDE SMART
ultimate street riding strategies for advanced motorcyclists
Pat Hahn
ISBN#0-7603-1760-7

i have read about 40 pages and I feel it to be one of the better "ride to stay alive" books out there.

i purchased it at Chapters...it has tons of good info so far, and in my opinion has paid itself off already

i am not a safety nazi... but any advantage i can gain through knowledge is always welcome...this book is one of those welcome things.

less $30 i think..but does it matter if it saves your bacon just once?

i am a firm believer that you cant put a price on safety or education

$19 from Amazon.ca.

Also read Proficient Motorcycling, Amazon has a deal for both. Reading doesn't take the place of training, but certainly can add.

The Metrotown Library has Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough.
A great book that should be required reading for riders.
Link
His second book, More Proficient Motorcycling is great too.

Twist of the wrist is WAY more technical.... more focused on the track and track technique.... not so much "street survival" i have read TOTR 1 and 2.

and sport technique is excellent... but also more "riding" focused. this is more...so far... ride awareness and crash avoidence oriented...which is very important for street riding. its nothing that isnt comon sense, but sometimes we take it in better if we can read IT before we have to react to IT

If you ride a bike you are going to crash, naming a book "want to ride without crashing" is rediculas.

Only if your crap, I know loads of people that haven't bailed.

Then again most of the were trained properly.

Training helps, but In no way are you a "crap" rider if you bail. Rossi has had a few I think eh?
