Hey guys. I just wanted to get some feedback. I just sold my ZZR250 and want to move up to a bigger bike. I didnt test ride many other bikes, but I rode a 2002 CBR600 F4I and liked it... I want a bike that looks sporty, but that I can ride for more than 5 hours before i get sore what do you think?

Along with Yamaha's YZF600R, it's the best 600cc sportbike out there IMO, unless you're riding exclusively at the track.

My opinion of the F4i...

I did a bit of internet research before buying my 02 F4i and all the reports/comparisons I saw indicated the following:
The major manufacturer's products are very similar - not much to choose between them in terms of build quality
GSXR's have a very aggressive riding position - very ass-in-the-air
Yamaha is a bit high strung - good if you like that, bad if your first sportbike
F4i by far the most comfortable of the 600 class

I'm a Honda fan-boy so the above only confirmed my inclination to get the F4i. It was quite a jump from my Pacific Coast (800cc sport tourer from the 80's/early 90's) but I love them both.

Had it for two years now, did the West Coast Superbike School and several track days with it and I'm very happy. :evilgrin

That's what I ride. I've had her for a few years now and it's still a blast. Great engines and a nice riding position. It has best of both worlds, sporty yet like you said you can take it for long rides. The seat is like a plank though after a while.

Also forgot to mention, if you are the kind of person who can't wait to get fancy undertails etc for your bike, there is more stuff available for the 600RR than there is for the F4i. Comfort is down a notch or two though...:2cents

ya, i will get some fancy lights and new windshield, but not to much bling. I hear the 600rr is more twitchy too, and I dont want to kill myself. the only thing i was worried about is if the f4i is TOO upright.... i rode a ninja 250 and those are pretty upright, but i wanted a little more aggresive then that, but not as aggresive as a GSXR

i may get mine this week: 2002 red and black, 9800 KM, $6300... needs new tires(50% tread) no accidents or drops, ALL stock!($6500 with gear)
sound like a good deal?

If you don't mind the look, the one piece seats of the 2004 and newer F4i's are nicely padded and very comfortable. I spent about 8-9 hours sitting on that kind of seat on a few rides before without any soreness at all.

It really depends on how the bike fits you specifically but I don't think it's too upright at all.

That's probably the same for any inline 4.

That's a pretty decent deal. Put some money into a new helmet for yourself if you don't already have one. But onto my opinion on the F4i. I've been riding mine non stop since April and have had no issues with comfort. Even when I went on an 8 hour ride. It has plenty of power and handles like a dream. Put some money aside for good tires it makes a difference. I'm riding with Dunlop D208ZR's (I think they are also called Qualifiers) and the are wicked, great in the rain and dry. i mind the look:laughing but no, they arent the worst looking, it just takes away from the sportiness, and adds more to the tour. But its true, the banana seats have more padding in them, like my zzr250. So again, do oyu guys think that bike sounds like a decent deal ^^^^

I just bought a 2002 f4i a month and half ago. I have put almost 6000 kms on it since and I loved every one of them. I got mine for $6000. So yours seems like a good deal. Go for it! The F4i is the best all around 600cc bike. I have done some good sized trips into the interior and have had no complaints.

I ride the same bike your looking at I have put on 26000 km on it and I love it. The seat is a bit hard but you get used to it. The riding positions great its not to aggressive but still gives you that sport bike feel. Just put some flushmount signals on it and maybe a double bubble screen and your set to go. One thing is you must get an after market exhaust cause the stock sounds to wimpy, I have a Hindle Titanium.

I agree, Hindles a great can. Sounds, looks good and not bad on the wallet either.

nice bike kuldip.... it kind of sucks, i want the yellow, but cant find one at a good price, they are all expensive, or the better priced ones are red or silver. The one I think im gonna get for 6300 is red and black. the colour doesnt thrill me, i think i like the yellow or silver more but i dunno if its worth paying $500 more, or in some cases $700.

Tuffghost, what colour is yours?

PS: Does the yellow fade after a while?
I like this one, and the KMs, (price is a little high) but is it me or does it look faded? that was my only concern
