If your bro doesn't already have a full Class 5 drivers licence, then it goes like this.
(1) apply for a learner's (Class 7L & 8L) licence
(2) take 2 knowledge tests
(3) go through a learner stage (minimum 6 months)
(4) take the motorcycle skills test (during the learner stage)
(5) take a Class 8 road test
(6) go through a novice stage (minimum 18 months)
(7) take a Class 6 road test
The above usually takes around 2 years to complete.
