During the traffic light blackout this morning in downtown Vancouver I saw a 1990 GMC Sierra with a Gem camper cover flashing it's blue and reds.

Just goes to show that absolutely anything can be a piggy mobile these days.

I know that these ghost car threads are tedious but, c'mon!

Did it stop people from being absolutely retarded and actually make them treat it like a 4 way stop?

If that thing tried to pull me over i would think it was a prank and get the hell away from it. You don't have to pull over until you feel you are in a safe place right? I guess you have to obey the rules while you do it though.

Why not? :laughing

How about...

1972 Nova with a blower?

1981 Pacer?

2006 Kia?

I'm not that keen on giving "traffic enforcement" glamour vehicles like the ST1300.

I heard somewhere a while back that the police were authorized to use their personal vehicles on the job.

Maybe that's why we're seeing so many different models and years being used in traffic enforcement.

:cool Tough call...

:devillook The evil side of my nature, the part most likely to break the speed-related sections of the MVA act [:)], wants to cry fowl and demand 'marked only' police cars.

:rant But the law-abiding citizen in me [95% of me :D], the one who sees the chaos of crack & crime around my downtown neighborhood; the one who feels an increasing lack of personal safety and knows everything I own could be gone tomorrow due to the handywork of crack-head thieves [or amateurs, or pros :rolleyes]... wishes the police were everywhere in any ole POS they can get their hands on.

:rolleyes Yes, my 2kms are wobbly and tainted given my recent experience with the attempted theft of my bike. OK, I'm a lil' bitter too, from seeing a steadily increasing trail of glass along the streets (and in my parkade) from freshly punched-out windows from smash-n-grab theives. And ummm... ya, I'm also pissed-off that I'm the one that has to move from my neighborhood because there aren't enough police... whether in marked cars or old pickup trucks.

:) Rant over. Thanks for listening. :happysq

That's why the Lords of Motard are providing a puplic service by keeping the Crackers on their toes and running for their lives. It's our personal mission to take back the back alleys and industrial parks of Vancouver. Chase those fuckers back to Alberta!!!:rockon

I saw a mid-90's GMC Sierra quad cab, hunter green colour with the heavy duty steel wheels and brush scrapes all down the sides pull a guy over on Hwy 99. I first noticed him exiting the tunnel doing about 110 over 80 Km/h. I was thinking what a jerk; doesn't know it's still an 80 zone 'til the Delta Works Yard. Then 10 minutes later he's got the cherries on with some unsuspecting speeder pulled off the side of the road. Now that was a stealthy ghost 'car'.

actually try more like $100 USD for the mexican police.

although what you do is say that you have no cash and give them a photocopy (get 5-6 before you drive) of your insurance papers, they will agree to hang onto them at the station until you come and pay the ticket, just never show up :p

if you do pay them the $100 be prepared to be pulled over in another 2 blocks by one of his friends to have the same raping experiance.

I have worked down there and know this to be true, mainly in mexico city though.
