I had terrible experience with Gateway Powersports. I was treated like a punk kid by the owner (the older guy) It took them 3 months to fix my bike when i was told it was a quick 1 week job. Always given the round arround when i called. blah blah blah on and on i could go. I do not recomend taking ur bike there.

I havent brought my bike back to them since.
See Rich Powley(604.793.6864) in Chilliwack, the only person that touches my bike. Otherwise 5th Gear but he's a bit far for wack/abby people.
dont go to 3-D cycles, their mechanic is a neanderthal...

I have no problem with Gateway, been in a couple times and was treated pretty good. The old man is a bit sour but that's just the way he is.

Shane is a loud happy guy, he's the salesman, and the sour old mans kid, Ryan, is a nice guy too.

Their mechanic is also very nice and does good work, maybe even a bit extra with no charge if he see's something hanging loose or not proper.

No experience with Clearbrook Yamaha aside from talking to a salesman for about 3 minutes.

Dont think we have anything else aside from Muddy Motors but I dont think they work on street bikes

Hey nick, it doesn't sounds like to bad a drop. Just standing? If so, and its still ridable just order up the parts then come by my place and I will give you a hand fixing it up.
like hershey said. no 3D.

5th gear seems like the place to go, if you have a truck..

Myself I like CR cycle in maple ridge..

gateway is an alright place, i dont like the front end employees to much. dont know about the wrenches..

Thanks for the offer to help me with fixing the bike myself, however With this beautiful new sound the bike is making now (sounds like Valve timing is off) im ready to thow the bike away.. obivously the bike laying on its side for god knows how long has caused somthing else to go horridly wrong with the internals of the engine.. I barly made it home from the group ride.
just a question.... do you know how it managed to get shiny side down?

from where i parked my bike, it was rolled back and on its side in the main part of the driveway.. My only thoughts is that the theif or theives who were tryin to take the bike fucked up and dropped it or got spooked and took off..

So there it is, the breakdown on parts.. This doesnt include the "ICBC Refinish" On my Left Side Mirror or the labour to take apart and install these parts or Painting to match the bike.

SO im thinking ICBC is going to write her off as there is some issues wtih the carbs and engine that I havent even had looked at yet...

What are your thoughts.

You did remember to park it in gear right?

LOL Parked her in first gear Steering locked on FLAT ground kick stand fully extended.

PS: for her to roll that far before falling would be an ACT OF GOD without help from someone.
I would avoid Clearbrook Yamaha. PM me for details.
what year and models is that?
my bike is a 90 Kawasaki ZX6
Gateway Powersport,South Fraser Way Abby

I woud avoid Gateway Powersport completely If I were you .Not only I regretted buying my first Motorcycle there but a co-worker brought his bike there and a week later the mechanic told my buddy "I would take my bike somewhere's else if I were you they gonna screw you here"They charged him for that week and gave him a false diagnostic. I had a disagreement between the bill of sales and sale contract andended up with threats of having the cops involved. How lame is that for buying a brand new motorcycle. The older guy has no people skills whatsoever. I wish I would of known. Once you sign he brushes you off.
Way to bring back a thread from 2006...in any case, didn't Gateway shut down?
Sorry to hear about the incident. hope icbc gives you a nice new fat check so you get a new bike.
