a full on big bore and superbike build on a 750 engine is going to run you about $4000 and you'll still need the nice bazzaz goodies as well to make it run well. You'll also need a higher octane fuel to handle the added compression and heat that it can build.

Sell the 750 and get a 1000 instead. Much cheaper option, unless you like building motors yourself.

tractability and every day functionality become a greater and greater problem, the hotter one hops up any given engine. Over-heating, way fast idling, narrower power bands, greater wear and tear on operating parts ... all of it comes with limitations of sorts.

Want more power ... there's tons of really cheap, hardly used liter bikes for sale right now. 150 hp plus and 400 lbs, if that's what you want?

Don't know what year your 750 is, but considering how dirty cheap a GSXR 1000 can be bought for, a motor swap is a waste of time unless you are doing it to get some mechanical experience.

The 1000 engine is simply a 750 engine with slightly bigger cases and a 13mm longer stroke. The long stroke is what makes the K1 to K6 1000 engine such a midrange monster. GSXR 1000's are good, tough bikes with tough motors.

There are several K3 / K4 1000's that have been for sale for 8 months. They are asking between $4000 and $4500. There was one blue / white K3 I saw for sale that had a full akra evo system, PCIII and some other goodies and he's asking $5000. That is an awful lot of bike for $5000. You could probably offer $4500 for that bike and get it. It's been for sale for a long time.

I've got a blue / white K4 1000. It's an American import and has 60,000 kms on it now. The realistic value of my bike is about $3000. Sad but true.

good luck with whatever you decide
