Where: F440 Go Kart track Tsawwassen, just before the Ferry terminal
When: Monday Aug 7th, 2006, 6:00pm
Why: Because we love Motard'n
Who: You!
How much: 6:30 or after, it's $25
F440 Members ride anytime all in

The plan is to go out and do a ramp fix up as well as ride our hearts out. Hopefully this time somebody remembers to bring the supplies to finish them off. The plan is to reinforce the wood and paint the surface with a traction paint. Thinking about it now, too bad we could get our shit together prior to Monday, then we may be able to put them out on Monday to ride. Hmmmm... I'll see what I can put together.

Better not to ride it on the same day it's painted. Paint takes a few days of drying to reach it's final harness. And I would think that this would apply doubly to paint with the traction sand in it as the paint will be extra thick around the sand particles. It would be a shame to paint them and then rub it all off while it's dry but still "green".

Patience guys, patience.....

Oh, and any good quality paint can be turned into traction paint with some sand sprinkled over the first coat. I don't recomend mixing it in directly as it'll clump. Far better to paint an area and have a spare helper "salt" it with a shaker of sand while wet. After it dries apply a second sealing coat.

Or by non skid porch paint in the first place.

Ramps are painted and ready. Still have not got a firm yes from the owner, in regards to putting them out on the track. Our chances look kinda good though. We'll just try to work our angles when we go in tonight. My biggest concern is the attendance for gokart'rs may be hight tonight, being a holiday Monday and all.

Big thanks to Ziv once again. He came out and helped Bill and I lay on the paint and reinforce the surfaces.

Cheers.

One additional note from the owner. Addressing his insurance concerns

PROTECTIVE GEAR IS A MUST

This means:
Proper Snell full face helmet (Motocross or street), Gogles if Moto
Leathers or Motocross gear with sufficient amour under (Top and bottom)
Boots
Gloves

Anyone without proper riding gear will not be allowed to ride on the track.

Wow....another AWESOME night of absolute tire abuse and a few ground bar ends....everyone rode like demons!!!!! Especially Troy on the XR100....we won't say what Troy did to Bruce.....those damn Avon slicks sure sucked...right Bruce?

I was laughing so hard that I almost rode off the track at the next turn. I'm used to Troy being faster than me but I never thought I'd be beat by one of my own bikes while I was on the other one.

Next time, to help preserve the last delicate shred of my self esteem, I only permit ONE of my bikes at a time on the track regardless of if it's me or someone else on it.... :D

Got a query out about the Avons but if nothing comes of it I think there's a Supercorsa front in my immediate future. Sliding fronts don't fill me with a great deal of confidence.

Ya think perhaps his age is catching up with him? :evilgrin

He may be a little stiff from lowsiding my XR100. He tried to come around the outside of us and pushed off the track. The engine never missed a beat and it weighs not much so he was back up and riding in a blink but I wouldn't doubt that a couple of muscles are crying "FOUL" at him today.
